Does anyone know of any good rock bands I won't have heard, and some songs I can download by them from kazaa? recently I've got some by arch enemy and nightwish, both good bands, and obviously I've heard most of the mainstream rock stuff, i'm currently looking into less popular/mainstream rock bands. so if you know any do tell :)

Are people sitll using Kaaza? Their network is dodgy and fully of fake tunes. I hear Kaaza is more or less dead.
NOFX are a really cool Punk Rock band. Have a look for Franco Un-American and She Nubs.
The Seahorses are a good band as is The Crocketts. Good luck trying to find any of the The Crocketts stuff, there's not much about. 1939 Returning is a great tune.

There were in a local club recently. I didn't go when they were there though. They gave my mate a birthday hug and kiss. She was dead pissed and couldn't stop telling them how when she saw them they were good but nothing on machinehead!

'Rock' is pretty broad and it's hard to know what you mean by 'popular' but couldn't resist putting forward a few of my all time faves, of a more punk flavour (I'm guessing you don't mean metal). These are definitely popular and well-known but if you havent heard them then it's worth me recommending them, non?:
NOFX: Punk in Drublic, esp songs Stickin in My Eye, The Bruise, Bo Diddley, Linoleum
Lars Frederiksenn and the Bastards- any song on their only album
Transplants- as above, amazing band
Rancid: all albums, all songs! Esp Ruby Soho, Old Friend, Red Hot Moon, Radio, Nihilism...
AFI- esp Silver and Cold, Dancing through Sunday and Girls Not Grey
My Own Victim
I'll leave it at that for now, don't want to sound like a know it all, I just know what I like!
This is a
rock record label (http://www.rabble.co.uk/Grip/labels.php) list with loads of links you could try- on loads of them you can listen to songs.
Also try Epitaph (http://www.epitaph.com)

So far I've downloaded a good few by SiKth, already knew about them but couldn't get their songs on kazaa, so I have limewire now. They're a fucking class band (sorry for the language, but they are).
I found Zyklon a little bit like SiKth in they're style and they're also a really good band, one I hadn't heard of.
Also downloaded "I am the one" by Crackout, I've heard this one before, maybe in a computer game or on tv, but it's a class song, couldn't get any more of there's yet.
Will download more when I have the time, I can't now cos I'm going out soon.

Evanescence are a rock band, well, a gothic type of rock band. They have a mixture of music
They have guitars and drums. There, the similarity to rock music ends. It's whiny. sped up pop with a few riffs thrown in.

It doesn't matter how you classify Evanescence, they're a pile of angsty wank.
As are the few bands/songs that have been mentioned in this thread that I've had the misfortune of hearing.
Dance music is where it's at. kiddies :thumb:

Fuck I haven't recognised one of these bands - I assume they're all heavy metal?
If your looking for some good rock bands you haven't heard why not try some older bands - you'd be amazed how good they are if you give 'em a proper listen.
Rolling Stones are fucking brilliant. The Velvet Underground, the Who - some of the old punk stuff is brilliant . . . the clash and the jam.
As for newer stuff - well I'm more into indie/punk and not sure that would be your kind of stuff but would reccommend: the futureheads, British Sea Power and The Walkmen or the bees and the zutons for some shroomadelica rock n roll.
Really doubt any of that would be your cup of tea but thought I'd throw it in

Aye... I'd say Velvet Underground were more... I dunno, their own style than rock. Some of their music I'd classify as Jazz.

Glam rock? I'm not too sure about that I was fairly sure they were new york punk. Too gritty to be glam rock

Just popped back to reccomend Dimmu Borgir - Progenies of the great apocalipse to everyone, it's a brilliant song.
Y'know what, everyone will probably think I'm very weird but in Buch Dich by Rammstein, there is a sound effect that sounds a little like a woman screaming, they use it a lot and it sounds exactly like the one on Haven: Call Of The King on the PS2. That was bugging me for ages. Lol.
