Wrong forum I know so I do apologise I'm just after a quick answer!

I think it's called auto fill

it's where when you're searching for something on a search engine and if you've seached for thesite.org previously after you've typed in the first few letters it'll come up with it in a little box (kinda like what happens when you type in a URL)

Hopefully someone will have a notion as to what I'm on about.. I don't even think it's called auto fill...

but anyway.. how do I turn it on/off

If you have winxp go to start>search & click on change preferences, it brings up turn auto complete off.

In Explorer, click on the menu bar, click Tools>Internet Options. Then choose the Content tab, and choose Autocomplete. The settings are in there.

There's another setting under the Advanced tab that allows you to set autocomplte for file names when exploring your computer, etc (called Auto Fill).
