Just thought that I'd post a nice funny thread as they don't seem to come up too often in this section of the site.

I was chatting to my friend the other day about names that couples tend to call each other. Like babe, darling, love, hunny ect. I was just wondering what other people tend to use if you use any at all

And...are there any bizarre things that you've been called or have called a partner? I could do with a laugh

For instance my friend tends to call her boyfriend 'munchkin' :yuck:

Pet names make me cringe I'm afraid. I can never bring myself to actually use them. I can take the shortening of my name but not much else.

I've been called Hairy Monster a couple of times :o and Sweaty Horny Evil Beast (though that was in the throes of passion) And I've called a couple of ex's Sexy-pants. It's only done tongue in cheek though. Normally I avoid the pet names, it's just a bit twee and cheesy to me, and one small step away from calling eachother names such as Bunnykins! :yuck: Oh, and the embarassment of being called such names in public! Or in front of friends! :eek:

I call all of my mates "Hun" and "Darl" and I started out as mates with my new bf, so "Hun" and "Hunny" kinda came from that. Occasionally call him "Babe(s)" and "Baby" but usually just "sexi" and "gorgeous" - it's only been three weeks, so give it three years and there's bound to be more personal-type ones.. :)

An ex used to call me "angel" and "precious", which I quite liked :)

I don't think i have ever used a pet name. It would sound so wrong coming from my mouth. And the shame if my friends ever heard me :eek2: christ no it would shatter my ice maiden image if anyone found out i am remotely human :D
The nearest i've come to anything like a pet name is sweetheart or my dear (usually used to piss people off though). I used to call mine southerner that's about it, originated from a piss take and affectionately stuck. I think mine was ignorant bitch :cool:

names makes the relationship unique coz you never call a new boyfriend the same name as you did your old boyfriend.... well unless its like babe / honey coz they're boring. lol
