Am i stuffed?

I have a trojan horse virus but AVG wont find it when i run it.
Its in the restore bit of the computer...am i fucked? I am just updating AGV but i don't think its gonna help.

Its there anyway of getting rid of it?

And viruses are often in the restore section because it makes common sense to restore your computer if things are going wrong; but you restore the virus as well. Updating may help, but I'm no expert. Have you tried using housecall? It's an online scanner and is pretty good!

Before you do that see if you can find the exact name of the virus and then do a google search for removal instructions. You can often get rid of them without virus killers. Sites like www.mcafee.com and such will list methods.

You could just delete your system restore points and then make some new ones.

Start -> All Programs -> Accessories -> System Tools -> Disk cleanup. Click it, let it do what it's got to do then when you get a box popup choose "more options" and then click the bottem clean up button to clear restore points. Thats should do you.
