Girls First

I've always kinda noticed that families where the first born is a girl tend to be closer.

Anyone agree or disagree with this observation?

There was 3 boys born before my sis in my family & then me & our family aren't close at all. So there could be some truth in the statement.

2 of my bros get on well with each other & me & my sis are the same then my remaining brother is on his own really.

My sis & mum don't get on but the rest of my bros & me get on with her. Then none of us really get on with our dad.

I dont know about that as i suppose it depends on the the type of relationship you have been born into and the ones round you because you learn off them.
However i have heard that it can be because most females naturally have the matural instincts to protect and look after the younger ones.(not all though):)

With that said, i am the oldest in my family and i do get very protective of my younger brother. All my family are very close.

I wouldnt say thats true! Me and my brother get on realli well and hes first born- 4 years older than me. We used to fight like hell when we were younger like full on physical fights sometimes so i suppose it could be true there.

We've got a lot closer since mum died aswell so we could be an exception to the rule i suppose!!

and in my extended family, all the family is close, and i have 9 male cousins and only one female.

i find that me and my brother started off extremely close but as i got into teenage years till about the middle of the teenage years we began to fight more and then went back to how it used to be. Guess its hormones or something. Hes just began teenage years now so hes being a right git. Ah well still a few more years to go before no fighting again....HELP:eek:

I should say I notice it more when the girl is first born and there is a few years gap netween her and the next child

I was first born and my family are really close. I argue a bit with my brother, hes younger than me, but I am so close to everyone in my family. My mum inparticular, we're like best friends cos can speak to her bout anythin, we have such a laff. She is also quite young aswell so she's not the more strict and you know.. type! We have a really special relationship. :heart:

could be right. I'm the oldest (my brother is 4 years younger) and we're a very close family.
