OK my lecturer got on at me again today about what I'm going to do when I'm done with my course (given I think I'm the only one that is considering further education )

He wants me to start the foundation degree in travel next year (whilst carrying on with the course I'm on now)! - I said I wasn't really interested as it is a qualification in travel and not aviation.. aviation being the industry I want to work in

So far from the limited amount of research I've done the only degrees I've found are stuff like aeronautical engineering or aerospace technology with pilot studies :chin:

I was just wondering if anyone knew of anywhere that does aviation related degrees?

or

Here? (http://www.leeds.ac.uk/speme/aviation/degrees.html)

I found these by typing avaition degrees into a google uk search. I'm sure you could find more if you tried :p

Hi rachie,

What area of aviation is it that you're interested in working in, and in what role? I'm just about to start my course in Aero Engineering at Liverpool in Sept, but I've been interested in aviation since I was at school (from about ten or twelve years ago), so I've done quite a lot of research into the industry as a whole. Even if I can't tell you the answer to something myself, I can probably point you towards someone who can help. If you're interested in flying I might be able to give you some useful info as well - I did my Private Pilot Licence in South Africa as it was about half the price of this country, and I can use it to fly in this country without having to do any extra qualifications.

Somewhere that might be useful to visit if you want a specific question answered is the Professional Pilot's Rumour Network (http://www.pprune.org) - it's not just for pilots, there are sections for ground crew, ATC, engineering, pax etc etc, and I've had a lot of good advice and help from people on there. They also organise meet-ups, which can be quite useful for networking and making contacts - I'm sure you're already aware that it can often be more about 'who you know' than 'what you know' in the aviation industry.

Hope that helps a bit - please PM me if I can help at all.

:D K
