This may come as a surprise but i love to sing!
As angel1886 alreay knows, due to recent circumstances i stopped my hobby for about 6 months and now im rusty :(
Does anyone else like to sing? Also does anyone know any tips for making your voice sound tip top with no joltyness and stuff?
By the way, i like to sing in a punk rock kinda style. You know, blink 182 and mest kinda stuff.
Thanking you :D

Only in the shower. I had a good voice up until I reached puberty - now it's shockingly average.
I think the only real effective way to improve your voice is to get some lessons from someone who knows their shit. You could try alternative methods such as listening to instructions from a tape, but I couldn't learn to play the mouth-organ with one. Good luck with that.

I like to sing. I don't think I am great, but people often tell me I am, so I must be quite good. I was recently in 'Les Miserables' ( which I hated doing but was my fault for not watching it first) and was lead, and with that I had some vocal training.
After my piano teacher, who runs the top choir in the country (apparently), saw me, she wants to give me more vocal training, and she is trying to teach me how to sing and play piano at the same time so I can be a singer-songwriter type-blokey, but without the song writing.

i had about a year of classical training and hated it. she made me sing really high and i'm a tenor/alto (i had a crazzy throat thing where the pitch of my voice dropped like an octave) so it was dire.
i'm in a soul choir now so thats pretty cool.
i dunno, um, just try sitting down at a keyboard or something and learn to sing the scales.

bolloocks! Don't take lessons keep it natural - perfect voices just don't have the same character as those that occassionally crack and warble . . . its more real!
Just teach it yourself, practise makes perfect

If you want it to sound punk-rock-proper, then you may want to keep the rawness in your voice. Proper training will make you a proper singer, but that's not really what punk is about. Well any kind of rock music really. It's all about what you put in and how you convey your emotions, and you can't do that if you sing like Jamie Cullum or Will Young.

lol at the will yound comment. Na i dont like to sing like that i just like to sing along to mainly; blink 182, sum 41, lost prophets, mest and the occasional rasmus.
I think the singing style is great because its THEM singing and not a stupid arse computer.
I do like to practise a lot, but my mum gets a little aggitated lol.
I can write my own songs and i try them out a lot too, iv been told i sounds like that man from blink 182 who has the lower voice (the one who sings the first chorus to "i miss you"). I think his name is mark?
Well done to everyone with the great voices anyway :thumb:

singing lessons just keep your voice in practise, and keep you from hurting it. do you not think that people like matt bellamy from muse, don't have singing lessons? i did have classical training and it didn't suit me. i'm now going to someone how help you find you own style and helps you work with it, he also does this with the song writting too.

I can't sing, wish I could sing, need to be able to sing for my new band and I've been nominated for lead vocals with guitar - should be a laugh because I'm a really really bad singer and I have no idea why I'm being made singer

I love to sing, but I do it mainly in the bath etc, because my voice isn't so good. But I think that if I learned to use it properly it would have some potential.
