Americans do quick fire one liner comedy's like Friends.
The Office is unique and can never be successfully re-made.

That's certainly one way to describe it...

I'm just amazed that they made a re-make that was actually WORSE. I've been more amused having my teeth pulled out, I would rather get piles then ever have to see Ricky fucking Gervais ever again.

BAFTAs are the TV industry arse-licking whatever is popular at the time.

You have to put The Office into it's comedy context. Is it better than Fawlty Towers, Blackadder, The Royle Family, Phoenix Nights? No- it isn't even better than Married With Children.
