being compared

I'm an only child with is fab but instead of being compared to my brothers and sisters I get compared to my only female cousin (the other 3 are boys) who is 10 years older than me!!

10 YEARS!

She has a good job, she's married, has a nice house, a dog, is a member of the vintage car club,
and now she's pregnant (found out today)

It really pisses me off that I get compared to her so consequently I'm a big fat failure!

my mum told me so was proud of me for like the first time ever last week... not because of the things I've achieved though, she's proud of me because I don't walk around with a skirt up my arse, I don't go out every week and get plastered, because I haven't got pregnant and because I generally have self respect!

Not really much point to the post I'm just really annoyed that I get compared to her when theres such an age gap :banghead:

I used to get compared to some half cousin off mine all the time by my gran. I was always told how far ahead he was, how he had been walking 6 months earlier than me etc. It didn't matter that I ran rings around him academically or anything like that. The day I got into Uni (the first person in my family) she kept going on about this guy proposing to his girlfriend.

Not really the same thing but I sympathise.

My sister got it even worse......

well thats not fair at all is it? i totally understand though because i get compared to my cousin and shes 4 years older than me! she lives in australia with my auntie and male cousin but goes to uni and is going be a doctor...i dont resent her for it because god knows shes had it rough, she got raped at 14 and went anorexic..but shes good now! but im still compared to her in all respects even though im top of the class in school..it gets me down to but just think, you have your slef respect and your academic grades as long as your pleased with them then who cares, its you that has to be happy , sod everyone else hun!
