Id like to know exactly what there is to shove '"in our face", I haven't seen enough of him to know if hes any good.

We only want players who want to play for us, he obviously didn't so I don't give a shit. :)

WRONG, he did want to play for you, he was going to play for you, but once again the scumback known as Sir Alex thought he could take the piss and offer a very low amount of money for a player who is worth a lot more.

P.S. He is meant to be a class act, RvN has being quoted in the paper today saying how big a talent this lad is. Your not going to dis-agree with the your own Horsehead now are you? :p

If he wanted to play for us he wouldn't have joined Chelsea, very simple. Money doesn't come into it, look at Beckhams transfer to Real even though Barca were offering more money.

Players very rarely say anything different in public, it means nothing.

Well actually money does come into, if Man Utd hadn't been so pig ignorant and tried to stitch up PSV then Robben would be a United player now, it's laughable to suggest that he didn't want to join United, it wasn't in his hands.
I'm sure he would have loved to join them and link up with Ruud, 99% of foreigners would rather join United than Chelsea.

Of course it was in his hands, nobody made him sign the contract did they?

Perhaps money does come into this somewhere though, I imagine the wages on offer from Chelsea were 2 or 3 times what United were offering.

Read the reports going around please, PSV wouldn't sell him to Man U because they offered very little for him. Nothing to do with wages, it was the transfer fee offered that was crap and they thought they could get away with it but Chelsea popped into the equation and offered quite a bit more for him.

So, he would be a United player now if Fergie would have offered more money to him.

No-one did make him sign the contract but PSV wouldn't let him sign one for Man U because the fee wasn't big enough.

Have you ever heard of player power? If he really wanted to join United he would have done.

But PSV rejected the United bid - reported to be as low as £5m.

PSV chairman Harry van Raaij said: "United were first in the queue so we kept Chelsea waiting, but when we had our second discussion with United over a fee, we were very disappointed over how low they believed they could push us.

"They seemed to think he was worth a lot less than Chelsea were willing to pay."

Taken from the BBC website. Says it all.

What was to stop Robben saying he wsn't joining anyone but United? The PSV chairman is a wanker, constantly complained about us tapping his players up and when Chelsea do the same thing (Robben said this) he doesn't say anything.

I am sure we offered what we thought he was worth.

It was Robbens choice, simple.
