regions in France help!

hi,
I am in the process of choosing which french uni i want to spend a year in. i am considering Paris and then 3 which are partners with my uni. they are:

Caen (Normandy)

Pau (near pyrenees)

Orleans (loire valley)

if anyone has been to any of the above 3 then please can you give me some information about them regarding nightlife and the social side of it. thanks!x

i can't imagine any of those 3 being that interesting but i was hoping someone might be able to persuade me otherwise. if not i'll end up in paris which is where i really want to go but it will be soooooo expensive!
