Well, as some of you may have heard, 2004 marks 300 years of British occupation of Gibraltar, with plans for it to be one big party all the year through. The 10th of September is refered to as National Day, when everyone dresses up in the national colours (Red & White) and has a day of partying, culminating in a big concert at the end of the night.
Now, rumour has been rife since last August, that a large, well known British band, were to appear this year at that concert, to top off the national day celebrations, with further rumours being started about who was going to turn up. Sting, Elton John, any number of bloody pop idols, Robbie Williams etc. However, on the local news this morning, and also on the net, it has been nigh on confirmed, that the Rolling Stones will be finishing of this years concert!!! Personally, I CAN'T WAIT!!!! One of my fave all time bands, on the biggest day in Gibraltar in 300 years :)
So, if anyone is interested in a really good holiday, you can fly from most UK airports to Gibraltar (or malaga in spain, which is near, and sometimes cheaper.) So get some cash saved up, and be in Gib on the 10th of September this year, it's gonna be awesome :D
