What type of product do you expect when you get on board on an aircraft (think domestic flight)
i.e. in flight entertainment, in flight meal etc.. I need more ideas than what I've got

customer service and health and safety is a different issue as it will remain at a constant level

mints or sweet to suck on when the plane takes off, a drink offered all the time, meals hot and tasy and delivered quickly, intresting magazines, headphones maybe a catalogue?

I only expect what i know. From Cardiff to Dublin you get a man with a trolley selling peanuts and drink...a sick bag.....safety thing

that's all.

I don't think they exist in the world of the airplanes :p all the meals I've had have been yucky!

headphones, magazines, the card telling you what to do if the plane crashes, a lil' brochure of what you can buy (perfumes etc)

My dad complains he can't get his to work... whilst the rest of my family always fly economy and usually (on a 24-hour-flight) the audio system in my seat fails with about 6 hours left. Grrr. Dunno how important that stuff is on domestic flights. When we flew from Brisbane to Cairns we got a couple of eps of My Family (a nice touch of England... on a Quantas flight  ), and a small meal. But nothing hot if it's only a short flight. Hot aircraft food is vile and must be avoided if at all possible. Don't forget tea / coffee!

What do we want?

What we want from EasyJet is different from BA. For a £30 flight to the continent, we ought expect nothing more than a seat to sit on and a safe journey. For a BA economy class flight? At least a meal and a newspaper. Business class? A better meal, business-oriented amenities, such as a laptop plug or mobile charger, an air-phone.

For an international trip? Pretty much everything you could dream of. But levels of expectations are massively different depending on the price and reputation of the airline. There's something for you to think about right away.

Plane entertainment!!!!
Not over my dead body.

I'd never fly with an airline who did, no matter how cheap. I'd just get off with a headache.

Ultimately I'd say El-Al have the nicest stewardesses (youngest and prettiest too) and the best food. Swiss-Air (sabena, whatever it's called now) had/have the best flights with personal screens, several channels to choose from, games, and an airphone.

Swiss is shocking - Swissair wasn't particularly good, but Swiss have taken it to a new level. The seats are small, the food's dubious, the entertainment's crap.

And Sabena's the Belgian national airline, now bankrupt.
