mineral - parking lot
glassjaw - cosmopolitan blood loss, radio cambodia, tip your bartender
finch - stay with me, letters to you, what it is to burn

That's pretty much all of my favourite bands; and i think that 'Stay With Me' or 'What It Is To Burn' by Finch are my all time favourite songs.
Do you prefer the original 'Red Is The New Black', or the re-released version that's on Casually Dressed? I've been discussing it with one of my friends recently, and he thinks it's an outrage that they changed it so much. We're both big FFAF fans though.

the original. i also prefer the shouty, screamy original cut of juno coz its much more fun to mosh your ass off to :D

Hooray, I'm an indie kid too. There's not many of us on here are there? But then I post more often on music sites so I get my music fix eslewhere ;).
on another note, why on earth are Funeral For A Friend supporting Iron Maiden.
they have absolutely nothing in common, and they are unlikely to win over the crowd, as there will be a lot of sterotyped older 'metalheads' there.

They're both on the same record label and Maiden wanted a group of bright young things to support them, no doubt to pull in more young metal kids and make them appear to still be relevant and "with it".
Saying that I still think there will be a fair few young people on the tour.

Hot Water Music are not emo, they're like dark pop-punk.
Finch isn't emo. The Used isn't emo. A lot of the bands mentioned really aren't emo by any definition.
Personally, I'm into indie/emo sort of stuff, whatever really. I can't believe this thread is called 'what is emo' and no-one's mentioned Sunny Day Real Estate. Such a legendary emo band.
Kudos to the dude who said Mineral, they're an amazing band. Jimmy Eat World are pretty emo, particuarly pre-Bleed American (which is more just pop-rock). Clarity is my all time favourite album.
Coheed and Cambria are great, as are a ton of bands mentioned.
Funeral For A Friend are good, but I think they're overrated.
More bands you want to check out:
American football
Jets To Brazil
Owen
Last Days Of April
The Weakerthans
Bright Eyes
Cursive
Glassjaw
Kind Of Like Spitting
Songs: Ohio
Piebald
I'm by no means saying those bands are/aren't emo, just saying if you like the sort of stuff in this thread you'll probably like those.

Yeah dude, and while we're on pop-punk bands (well, Brand New used to be pop-punk anyway) download Fall Out Boy. Pop-punk done right.
Hey, I saw Brand New last year at The Metro Club in London, it was awesome. I also have their old CD with the misprints and stuff so maybe it'll be worth something some day.
I'm old school baby, ha.
a badSTAR

Brand New *drools*. Their new album is far better than their first.
Also saw them live last year, can't wait to see them again in Jan :hyper:
