Lab technician in Leicester University Geology department, but it's not strictly that, I've been all over the department rubbing shoulders with some very intelligent people, and I've never been in such an exciting environment in my life. At school, the pace of learning is sooooo slow I get bored! But here, my thirst for learning is just increasing expotentionally (sp?) :D
And no kaff, my work experience is better. :D :p

Well my work exp was in the National Spinal Injuries Centre at Stoke Mandeville Hospital. I got hands on experience with the patients, some of whom were only a few years older than me. The staff treated me as an equal, rather than as someone who was just there to watch! I had a totally fabby time that week! :D Im now back on the ward working as a volunteer
Beat that! :p

I was in a studio where they were filming a new Danish series. Got all around the set meeting producers, directors, camera crew, actors, editing, make-up artist etc. Plus they used me as an extra. Had to dress up as a nurse!

How many free goes did you get?
I've only been karting once in Milton Keynes and it was £1 per minute.

My main work experience was with some computer graphics company... i sat in the corner 'testing' (playing with) their products and popping over to Mrs. Dave's for the sandwiches, cos there was nothing better to do.
And then this year my dad offered me some work experience... then it became compulsory... then it turned out to be two days in some village in the middle of nowhere surveying a derelict house and its garden. The most boring thing i did in 2003, i think. Talk about cheap labour!

I did work experience at Capital Radio in London and Chiltern FM in Dunstable. It was great and I actually got to help out with the shows on-air.
Now I'm working at a proper radio station as a producer, having done hospital and student radio. I love where I work and what I do. It's great! :)

'Scuse me for hi-jacking the topic. How did you lot go about obtaining your work experience? There's a language school in the town that I live and I'd love to do work experience there this Easter but I've no idea how to approach them. No, they're not advertising for workies.
Any tips, hints, advice?

I just wrote to Five and they called me. Either call them, visit them (if its local) or write to them. Just don't leave it too late. Good luck :)

yar, it also helps if you know someone who works there, my brothers friend did photography for bliss and got me in touch with the right people/gave them my cv and covering letter etc.
alternativley ask your careers advisor at school, they'll know how to sort it all out for you
