No it's not hard to get one unless you have criminal convictions, but there's always a chance they could just not like your name or something stupid!

So Briefy speaking what's the procedure to apply to work for 1 year in Oz and what does it all costs and how long before they give you an answer??

go to google and search oz visa, then you aply online for a 1 year working visa, make sure you have a credit card with 70 pounds on it to pay for it, and you get the answer by e-mail in two working days!
Then they give you a ref no, and you get a stamp when you reach oz! simple as! :D
That's it???
Flipping heck the world has gone automated ... what no interview, no test to see if you have TB?
No interview to check your eyes aren't too close together?? :eek2:

No, but I think they randomly interview people, or ask for a health check. I think it's best to get a certificate from the docs to say you're healthy just incase, as you wanna make sure you get into the country the otherside, you can still be turned away, you have to show you have enough money for a ticket home when you get there too, just minor details!

Cheers hun! I sure will! intending to be a wild child before I have no choice but to grow up for the 2nd time running, got some catching up to do for memory of my youth! The past few years have been all a little bit too serious and proper for my likeing!

I was wondering about the money aspect - do they ask to see you bank accounts or something??
Sounds such a simplified system but then again I guess they owe us cos they're sending so many Aussies over here ... the company I used to work for in London was 1/4 aussie and kiwi!! ... but they were such a great bunch of guys .. always happy and laughing..

nope, nowt like that! Used to be the case, but there was a loop hole where people were borrowing money, printing a bank statement and sending that as proof and then giving back the money to whomever they borrowed it off.

hey Australia just proves how stupid politicians are .. all those hundreds of years ago they sent the convicts over to Oz whilst they all stayed here ....
Now if they had any sense they have left the convicts here and taken everyone off to oz, in the sunshine and with the lovely beaches, etc!!!
