I have all the accesories like speakers mouse keyboard monitor even; I just need a base unit. Essentials would be inbuilt soundcard + graphics card + processer (of course) but I want to be able to install a seperate graphics card at a later date. I would like the processer to be at least an athlon 2000+ but more is better.

Does anyone know if this is possible for £200? heh thanks for your time :)

£200 - Yeah no problem!!

For your budget I'd recommend an Asrock motherboard

http://www.asrock.com/index_english.html

They've taken some well tested designs of motherboards and added extras like USB 2 instead of 1.1 and things like that.

or with the m810LR they've added loads of stand USB ports where previously other manufactuers only had 2 ports they put 6 - which is very handy.

I've built PC's using the 810MLR board from PC Chips and was the most reliable PC I ever had. But I don't think this one has AGP Port.. But have a look at their other products...

Go to a local PC fair in your area you'll easily get a base system for that.

but they're only motherboards.

i want the case, the fans, the cpu, the motherboard, etc etc. floppy drives hard drives cd drives... u get the idea :)

btw i can go a bit over £200 if I have to that's just a guideline.

all that other stuff is pretty much generic

Getting a good motherboard is probabaly the most important thing in a PC and a good hard drive..

Right now I have a very good Asus Terminator but a crappy 3gb hard drive in it and it slows down the entire PC...

But that's just a spare Pc downstairs for my mum to check emails and cousin to type letters so I ain't bothered too much.

Do you know how to build your own PC or have friends that will build you one??

They buy the parts and build one or go to a PC Fair as I suggested they are very cheap at the fairs!!

i kinda know how to build it, its attatching the motherboard up which worries me because there are so many jumpers and different wires on the motherboard. ive looked at building my own pc but it seems to be quite expensive :(

case - roughtly £30
good motherboard - £50+
hard drive - £50+
RAM - anywhere from £25
CPU - depends on the speed really... up to £100 :(

I dunno. I want a computer that will be good while I have it but I'm also able to upgrade it later if you know what i mean?

the pc i'm sat at cost me 300 quid. pentium 4. 2gig. 80 gig hardrive. two hundred and wotsit mem. i got no keyboard mouse monitor with it. not even a cd drive as i had all these things.
i thought i got a bargain but ...if you know anyone in bizz ask them if they have the dell cat; ...only available to bizz. for 450 squids you get a seriously better package with everything thrown in. cost you a grand in the high street.
