So what do you guys think about software patents?
All the big Linuc site are up in arms abot it cos it means any little thing can be patented, the scroll bat onthe side of the screen, the button you click on, the URL window you type in and protected for 20 years.
I think it would just be a total mess and stop little companies developing some great software. All the big commpanies that can afford the massive world wide patent fees will patant anythng and everything .. I remember BT claimed they invented Hyperlinks - only they didn't know it until someone did a review of some of their patents and found it in the archives.
