you stole my idea for a thread but sadly yes it is true the chat rooms. although im confuced does this mean the messenger is going ifso then :crying: if not then i dont really care i have never used an msn chat room and proberlly never will.
people are concerned that the msn messenger is being closed down but i dont think msn will do that, and also the chat room they are closeing are only in most of asia europe middle east and latin america
i hope they dont get rid of msn messegner:)

I've been away from home and haven't had net access for nearly a week but saw the articles in the press. I also couldn't establish if MSN messenger is being closed down aswell?
I very much doubt it as I I think it's just rooms which users can create themselves without moderators but I'm unsure. Can someone clarify the situation?
Because I would be lost without MSN, I bet they astart charging people to use it :(
It is the web services on chat.msn.com or wherever that are being shut, not msn messenger. Although if this marks the beginning of web censorship you could probably expect things like that to follow.

"anyone from manchester??"
"anyone from manchester??"
"anyone from manchester??"
"PM me for FUN!! ;) ;)"
"16/f/uk huge boobs PM!!"

 Yes MSN rooms all over Including the UK rooms close officially on the 14th of October .
The reason MSN said they are closing was to prevent children being targetted by perverts peodphiles of course the real reason is to charge people to use the rooms and have already posted up what they intend to charge American rooms $19.95 which is about £12 to us . Has yet they wont be closing Chatrooms in the Communties or Groups to newbies . And you can still use MSN Messenger but yes I agree that its probably only a matter of time before they will charge for that priveledge too .
Anyway who would want to pay to chat in their rooms cos they always get hacked , and Microsoft are always having problems and cant imagine it being any better if we paid can you ?

TBH there are no plans to offer the subscription based chat in the UK, so I wouldn't worry about it. Find somewhere else to chat as everyone else will.

I don't think we will get the subscription fee over here.
In America they do though.

Yeah 'cause the paedo's are just gonna give up now, right?
I mean there's no way they'd just go to another chat room :eek2:
