Opening and sending files labeled .doc

My uncle has Windows 95 and runs on Works 4.5.

He is having trouble sending, receiving and opening .doc files.

I suggested uninstalling then installing Works 4.5.

Any suggestions?

Works 4.5 doesn't support all the formatting of Word .doc files. But you can open .doc files with Works. When you open the file, us the drop down box to select Word files, and hey presto, you can open them. As already mentioned, you may loose some of the formatting, but it does work.
