not sure if this should be in sex or health, but whatever.

i used to take cilest but stopped as it gave me annoying side effects: ie bleeding between periods (like, EVERY DAY) and sore breasts; also possibly depression though i'm not sure.

i've just been to the doctor and he's given me microgynon-30 to try (well, he's given me 6 months worth actually but you know...). i've read the leaflet and the possible side effects are exactly the same, although it says you're less likely to get them if you take the pill at exactly the same time each day (the leaflet in cilest said it didn't matter).

how likely am i to get the same side effects? because they were bloody annoying! advice would be good from people who have taken those pills, or just anyone in general too... it'll be q a while til i start taking them anyway as i've just come off my period. and by the way, i stopped taking cilest months ago.

I've taken both & had different side affects from both. All pill leaflets say that you might experience the same side affects - they have to cover their backs you see. Keep going - you'll find one that works for you.

ive been on microgynon and I found it OK, although ive recently stopped taking it because i think it was making me depressed, but thats more of a recent thing. Its worth a try.

I'm on microgynon 30, and if you take it like the leaflet says, then I didn't have a problem with it.

Microgynon has been pretty ok with me. I had slightly sore boobs when I started taking it, and it possibly makes me a bit moody sometimes, although it's hard to tell if that's the pill or just me!

Your doctor's prescribed it for a reason, so I'd give it a fair try-out. I don't think the side effects are that bad but everyone's different.

microgynon 30 is what i use and ive never had any probs with it at all but everyone is different so just try out different pills for a period of time until u find the one that suits you.

I was on Microgynon for ages and never had any side effects. Apparently because its a second generation pill (I think) its considered a lot better than others like Celeste (which incidentally my sister was on and had a lot of problems with)

What kind of side effects were you experiencing?

as i said above... sore breasts, bleeding every day between periods, and possibly depression. i thought cilest was a 2nd generation one too

I've been on microgynon-30 for two years and I've never had any problems with it. As has already been said, there are loads of types of pills so if this one starts bothering you, I'm sure you'll be able to change again and hopefully find something that suits you. Have you had any bad side effects with microgynon-30 so far, or have you not started taking it yet?

I'm on microgynon 30 and I've had no problems with it.

My friend is on microgynon 30 and she started taking it a week ago today and she forgot to take her tuesday pill. She asked me what to do and I said take the tuesday pill when she got home and she'll be fine but she wont be protected for 7 days, but she didn't take the tuesday pill when she got home. She then told me today that she was bleeding and I said that was quite normal, but then she told me that she had missed out the tuesday pill and taken the wednesday pill on wednesday like normal, but she still has the tuesday pill which she didnt take. Now she is scared cos she has messed it all up.

Wat should she do??? I will be very thankful to anyone who can help.
