Erm... Are you truly surprised?!

I know there are a couple of people on here that were 11 or 12 or something which is just plain daft. I can't remember who they are though...

13 is more than young enough I reckon!

Why does anybody need to know most of the things they ask on here?!

They are asking out of curiousity, not out of a basic animal NEED to know... If you don't want to answer, don't!

Although I still think 13 is VERY young and don't really agree with people having sex at that age, I think you're right that it's far better that you lost it in a relationship and don't regret it. I was 16, and I wish it hadn't been the person it was. So you're lucky :)

A little, but age isn't everything.

More worrying are teenagers (even children?) who lose their virginity with someone they don't even know, or when drunk, or without using contraception, and most importantly for the wrong reasons.

You're 19... you might lose your virginity in a way you'll regret. Some people who lost it at 14 or 15 might have been in happy relationships.

I agree that it's more likely you'll regret it if you're very young and therefore less mature, and that's why the legal age is there, but I don't think it's the only factor.

Why do people say "I'm 15 and still a virgin"???
I mean, yes. you're 15 and SHOULD be a Virgin. So why the use of the word "still" is if it's something that needs to be fixed?!

I'm 17 and a virgin.

Is use of the word 'still' such a big deal?

It's just a word.

And considering that the majority of people in this thread lost their virginity before they were 16..

Actually, I don't know what my point is about that. It is a word for Christ's sake, it doesn't mean they think they are wrong for being a virgin :eek2:

But yes. You are entitled to your opinion. :p

No, not the PC people, the people that lost their virginity when they were below the age of consent and are offended at the thought of someone thinking that what they did was actually wrong

Edited to add: I agree with you Ilora.

Surely they would only be offended about it if they were insecure with what they had done?

Ilora - Just because it's the law in the UK doesn't make it an objective moral fact, plus age of consent is culturally relative anyway. Plus people were getting married and having children at 13 and 14 way back when in this country anyway.
Lose yer virginity when you want to. If you regret it afterwards, oh well, you made a mistake, life's full o' them.

Lipsy - I think it's a reaction to the stigma attached to being a virgin. If virginity wasn't such a big deal to those that are already out of the "club", and they didn't voice surpise and/or contempt, then there'd be no need for the two sides to crow about it.

Still a virgin here by the way. Because I'm lazy, or ugly, or horribly socially inept, or all of them, or none of them. Bahh, I don't care, leave me alone! :)

Well, it is for me.
I don't do sex before marriage (which everyone should know by now :p) so the fact I'm still a virgin at 19 means that I'm sticking true to what I believe in and that makes me feel :D, so I am proud that I haven't gone against that

I was 14. I don't regret being so young or anything though, I was in a relationship with the guy for two and a half years and I would have rather have lost it under those circumstances being underage than just as a one night stand or something when I was over 16.
