Mine was a holiday to Lapland where I went husky sleighing, snowmobiling and had to sleep in an igloo (yes it was freezing!). I also had to eat Reindeer despite practically being a veegie at the time (there aren't many vegetables in Lapland!)

Any of you got a fave day trip/holiday/travel experience?

Last year I did this:

Thailand - 6 weeks
Mayalisa - 2 weeks
Singapore - 1 week
Indonesia - 3 weeks
Australia - 12 weeks
Japan - 3 days

It's hard to pick but the highlights were:

Trekking in Northen Thailand
Living in a beech hut for a week on Ko Pha Ngan
Watching the World Cup in Indonesia
Watching the sun come up from the top of a volcano in Bali
Scuba diving at the Great Barrier Reef
Shopping in Tokyo

Although I had an amazing time there were some low points:

I was a leech's dinner for 2 hours before I noticed him.
Running out of money in Sydney, then spending 6 days in an undergroud car market trying to sell my car

Ahhhh travelling :(

i spent 7 weeks this summer in america. it was the best thing i ever did. saw so many cool things, experienced things that changed my personality, met the coolest people. i will never forget my time there. it sounds cheesy but it was a life changing experience

Probably Nepal, in March/April 2002. I had a fantastic time and everything went perfectly - not a single fall-out within the group, we did so much in the two weeks available and I went to some of the most amazing places in the world. And to top it all I fell in love with someone who was on the trip a couple of months later (although that little relationship didn't survive into 2003, sadly).

That will be closely followed by Jordan... although I was there mainly for research rather than holiday, I got very close to nature and experienced quite an, erm, experience. I'm not going to do the old "it changed me" and all that because it didn't, but its what gave me the travelling bug (and the dent in my parents' bank account).

Suddenly my 5 months in Russia doesn't sound exciting any more :(
