Whether through delays or overeager mates who drag you there 10 hours early you'll often find yourself killing time to try and get to and from your hols. So whether it is the train station or Heathrow how do you pass the time?

You'll find me pretending to be a plane on the viewing platform.

When I'm at the airport I normally get something to eat and drink and get something to read from WHSmiths, Also go duty-free shopping.

I'm quite happy to get straight to the gate, as soon as they'll let me, and lose myself in a book for an hour or whatever.

If I'm with my fella though, we have to find the viewing area and watch the aeroplanes, while he tells me about engine sizes and wing span, fuel capacity, number of windows, name of the pilot........ ;)

I normally go round looking for a bloody bin... there are never any.

I realise that there might be a risk of terroris bombings that need to be thought about but Im no litter bug!!

Make sure there's a mate around with membership to that Premier Club thingy... get him to take you in as his guest, and then launch yourself upon the free drinks, newspapers, food, showers...

Thank God I had him for that long wait in Johannesburg.

But usually I just sit down and read a magazine or something, or listen to music... it is so damn tedious waiting in airports.

If you are with someone, this is the best thing to do.

Find yourself a nice place to sit , where you can see everyone walking past. Then each of you gets to take a turn in trying to guess where and what the ppl that are walking past are doing. It might take a while to get into it, but it can give you hours of laughter.

I know this cause my sister and i have done this on many occasions.

I tend to have a look around the shops and buy a puzzle book to sit and do, then I have summat to do on the beach as well....but my fella seemed to pinch it off me all the time when we went on hol this year.

I like to find a calm place where I can doze off or read or stare at the people, or the ceiling, thinking about nothing. :)

I was stuck in kuala lumpur airport for about 13 hours and for the first few hours I just read my book then found it far more interesting to eye up all the stewardesses and the female passengers....
