There's loads of places that I'd love to go... see the main cities in Europe and North America, coral reefs, Iceland, maybe even Antarctica?

Do. Tis pretty. Infact tis my favourite place on the planet, that I know of anyway. Sure there are other jewels to find though.
I would love to go traveling round the eastern european citites, and I wouldnt turn down a trip to Iceland if it was offered. Heres hoping!

I take it you want to go for the same reason as I do ;)
I was really peed off because the geography dept at my school were going to do a trip there, but cancelled as not many people were signed up - i was really looking forward to it! (quite stingy considering a few months later i went on a trip with the biology dept to Nepal where I was the ONLY pupil to sign up, lol)
As well as Iceland, there are too many places around the world I'd like to go to...
- Italy! Never been there for some reason - I want to go to Pompeii, Milan, Rome, Monza, Florence, Siciy, Venice, etc.
- Budapest and Prague; two fascinating cities i must visit.
- Bosnia/Serbia/Montenegro - I want to get in before the rest of the tourists do.
- Russia - Moscow especially. St. Petersburg would be good, too.
- India. I want to see the cities, the shanty towns of delhi, and go tiger tracking in the north.
- Tibet.
- Australia & New Zealand. Haven't been to either of those yet.
- The Aral Sea. I want to visit that. That would mean going to Uzbekistan.
- Canada - I want to go to the Barrens in the north and track Jack Hornby's route, visit British Columbia, and visit cities such as Vancouver and Toronto. And visit the Niagara Falls.
- USA - only ever been to Florida and the Carribbean, so I'd like to take a road trip across the country and visit a load of places between New York and San Francicsco. Maybe go storm chasing during tornado season in the mid-west.
- Mexico. Mexico City fascinates me as I've done a lot of work on it, especially. And I love Mexcian movies!
- The Inca Trail. I'd love to do that.
- The Amazon Basin. Get in really deep into the rainforest, although I can never see this happening unless I become a writer for National Geographic or something!
- Sao Paulo; I'd love to go to the Brazilian GP there.
- Peru, especailly Villa El Salvador outside Lima. Another place I'd like to study beyond the text book.
- China; one of the big cities, such as Bejing. Then onto Hong Kong.
- Japan. I'd like to go to Tokyo, visit Horoshima, too.
- Lake Tanganika (sp.?) in Zaire.
- I'd like to go back to South Africa and spend some more time there, and visit Cape Town and have more time in Jo'burg.
- Madagascar. Mineral hunting and wildlife watching.
If I can go to those places in my lifetime i'd be a very happy bunny!

If you want :p
I think I'm going to have to stick to European countries for the next couple of years... my parents don't seem too keen to shell out much more for my "excursions" (which is only fair, really)

Count me in on those places. I think Mexico City would be great fun, though I think i might scare the people i was with by regurgitating facts about it all! And Id love to see the Favellas in Rio first hand.

Mexico City is the classic geog case study place... anything on pollution i could bore them for hours with! (i still remember the case of a record 398mm of suspended particles per square metre on 17th march 1992... schools were shut etc. - oh i can't wait to get back to my geography in a way!)
I'd love to see the Favelas in Rio, too... I saw shanty towns on a small scale in the south of Jordan which was intersting, and the great divide between rich and poor in Jo'burg (literally mansions are built next to the shanty towns... you can see why there is so much trouble) but the South American ones must be something else (and I'd like to visit the ones in Delhi).

Hehe. Boring geography conversation, outsiders beware!
But yeah, learning about things from a text book is a million miles away from actually experiencing it for yourself. Some one who posted on here months ago did a yer out and spent it working on community projects in shanty towns somewhere in the world. Think it might have been Rio come to think of it. I'd love to go do something like that because then you get a feel for the people and the culture, rather than just passing through for a few weeks, if that.
And while we're in that part of the world can I go to Curitiba (sp?, was a long time ago now!) and try out the bus network? Its meant to be amazingly efficient. All these people who want to go see the wonders of the world, and I want to go sit on a bus. I do wonder about my self at times...

Oh yes... Curitiba's Integrated Transport System! My geography teacher was in love with that place. He said knowing that was the key to success at A-Level, lol. They have those weird tubular stations, don't they? It all looked quite swanky in the books.
Yep, Rio, Sao Paulo, Curitiba, Amazon Basin... I could spend quite a few weeks in Brazil... ;)
P.S. did you get my last PM? probably best to e-mail me as there's a word limit on the things, and i've used up my BT internet free access (no-one ever told me there was a limit!) so I can't spend much time on the forums.

Yup, thats the one. WIth the cool bus stops and stuff. I've never properly considered it, but yeah, Brazil would be a great place to travel round. Might have to suggest we change the inter-railing plans for next summer to a trip to Brazil. In my dreams at least!
And yeah, I did when I checked. Stupid system didnt tell me it was there though. Anyway, email dispatched, and hopefully to the right place!

My plan (a vague one) was always to hit South America in a post-uni gap year (i don't believe in pre-uni gap years) - like 8 months or so working to fund it, then a couple of months travelling around the continent. Attempting something like that in the middle of uni would be financial suicide, probably! (unless I win the lottery...)
But, as you say yourself, I can dream...
