I'm going to have to say Tom Morello. His solos are the stuff of legends.

can't remember the guys name. saw him at the marciac jazz festival this summer, played in a group called trio sud. He was absolutely amazing.:yes:

The three in Iron Maiden are currently Dave Murray, Adrian Smith and Janick Gers so you have a lotta options there.

And Metallica's dedicated guitarist is Kirk Hammet. (personally, I don't really care for his live solos.)

Matt Bellamy of Muse in phenominal and he's pretty young, so there's a lot more to come from him. He could go down as one of the greatest guitarists in history
