Don't find it boring at all and can't understand anyone who has any kind of interest/love for the game of football can hate it.
Its about pride for your country playing against all rival nations. Can't beat the excitement that goes on in the European and World cup.

Which is why England fans seem to like abusing the United players in the England team then?
For me, I look at the England team and have a sense of frustration. I'm used to watching United and would happily argue that the quality in my team far outweighs that in the England team. There is possibly only two England players whic I think would ever get into the United one (other than those already there of course)...
That is my problem with internationals. I still root for my country, I just don't think that they are up to the same standards.

Sorry MoK but I have to dis-agree with your point about abusing united players, I suspect you mean Man U. As you probably know I am a Leeds fan and therefore hate Man U. When the players step onto the pitch in England shirts I'm and England fan and it doesn't matter who the players play for. I did and still do Idolise Beckham in an England shirt, along with Scholes and Butt. I still hate Gary and Phil Neville because I don't think they're worthy to play for England, I think they're shit (not cos they play for Man U).
I think your dillusional (sp?) if you think man u are a better standard than internationals. These are the best players in the world coming together as teams and playing against each other. As for not having anyone from the England set-up in the man u team, well, would you have Owen?, Gerrard?, Robinson?, Terry?, Lampard?, Dyer?, Joe Cole?, Bridge? to name a few. These are all class players that would put up a good fight to get into the man u team and if not would strenthen the squad considerably.
Thought they could put a second string team out and only just bet Wolves 1-0, then lost to Southampton, believe these players would get a game and do better than that.
I can see what your saying in a way because these players don't play together week in and week out. They play for there clubs in a different way to how they play for England and like I think will be proved with Chelsea this season you can't just throw class players together and expect to be brilliant.

Yes, I mean Manchester United.
Both of the Nevilles and Beckham have faced serious amounts of abuse from England fans for years. Most notably in Beckham's case it was about his wife and child. To suggest that a large segment of the England crowd hasn't done that is to ignore fact.
Unless you missed Euro 2000.
As for the Neville's being good enough. I would agree with you about Phil Neville as left back, but then he isn't even a regular for United in that position. As for Gary, if you can find me a better English right back at the moment, with as much experience then I would agree with you. Believe me Danny Mills is nowhere near...

I said better than England.

Owen would get in. Possibly Terry, but then Silvestre has shown himself to be a bteer centre-back than full-back.
Of the others I can think of a United player in that position who is better. Robinson, isn't as good as Barthez (I'm not judging Howard yet), Lampard/Scholes (hell even Sven can see that), Dyer?, Joe Cole is too inconsistent - when he's good he's very good but usually he isn't, Bridge/O'Shea...
They are good players but each would struggle to get into the United team.
Thought they could put a second string team out and only just bet Wolves 1-0, then lost to Southampton, believe these players would get a game and do better than that.
Agree with you about Southampton, but injuries played a part there. Besides I have yet to see a team who can beat everyone...
But Wolves. Remind me again, who won that game? Isn't that the point?

I agree with you about throwing players together, but you really need to put class in there in the first place. Sadly, England's youth has been over-hyped. As usual.

From a football point of view its because I love the game that I won't watch it, England are boring to watch, it sends me to sleep. I believe we were very lucky that Sven Goran Erikson never became United manager.
I've been to a few England games and they do jeer Manchester United players, I left fucking disgusted, never to return.
Lickalotapuss you think the Nevilles are shit and shouldn't play for England, do you think they should be abused when they are playing then? What type of support is that?
I think that Europes top clubs would piss on most national sides.
I also find the majority of Englands support to be two faced cockney wankers, Beckhams treatment after France 98 is still fresh in my mind, even if it isn't in his.
I just don't want to be associated with the fuckwits who follow ingerland, they're bunch of burberry clad twats who hate my club, I have nothing in common with them.

cLUB TEAMS PLAY TOGETHER WEEK IN WEEK OUT OF COURSE THEY'LL BE TECHNICHALLY BETTER THAN MOST NATIONALS BECAUSE THEY PRACTICE MORE!
aND JUST FOR THE RECORD THE nEVILLE SISTERS ARE USELESS- SHOULD NEVBER OF MADE IT PAST THE WOMB!
Terry, Bridge, Gerrard, Beckham and Owen would all get places in the Utd team I think.
Barthez
Bridge
Terry
Ferdinand
G Neville
Scholes
Beckham
Gerrard
Giggs
Nistelrooy
Owen
In fact there's only 3 non-English players in that team... Basically by mixing Utd with England you'd solve all 3 team selection arguements: Who to play with Owen, the left side of midfield and the keeper.
:D :p

I disagree, Terry and Bridge, no chance. Beckham and Owen would be on the bench, Gerrard would be the only one with a chance of being in the first 11.
I think someone said it earlier, apart from the current United players in the England side, I don't want any of them.

Bridge vs O'Shea?
No competition, O'Shea every time. I cannot remember the last time a defender excited me so much (from a football perspective!)...
And no, I wouldn't put Gerrard in, not when we have Keane.

Personally for me, it would depend on whether the game is a friendly or not.
These 'training matches' we have because Premier League managers do not want to risk their players, devalues a friendly and is a waste of time. I feel sorry for the people paying good money for this.
You cannot however beat a good competion game for pure passion.
Apologies for breaking up the Leeds v Man U thread.........yawn ;)

I'll say the same about you, but with a proviso that like some of the others I think that your banter goes too far and is too offensive at times. I agree with your sentiments though ;)
I guess we have been spoiled, as United fans (why do people want to specify which United I mean - there is only one United :) , of and don't you hate it when people refer to them as ManU). Anyway, as I was saying I think that we've been spoiled.
Not only do United players form the backbone of the England team (and yes, I'll include Beckham in there for now) but surrounding them we have some of the best international players too. For that reason England seem to be second best.
Clearly, if you were in a position where your own team had players of inferior standards to England, your perspective may differ.

Yes we have been spoiled, but it won't last forever and I'm going to enjoy every last second of it.:)
Growing up knowing the scousers will win the league, city will be bitter and leeds scum with their aeroplane gestures makes me like I am. Saturday 18th October I wonder how long it will take them? When we go 1-0 up even the stewards will be at it ffs.

Totally agree.

In comparison to England... be fair.
Added to that, did you watch the game?
Tell me, don't you think that United or even Arsenal would have torn the Macedonian team apart?

Personally I wouldn't play him.
In fact I'd go for a 3-4-3 formation, I doubt that we are going to face much in the way of attack.
That said, based on his "clearance" on Saturday I'm not sure I would play Sol either. Not sure he's up to it... ;)
