Hello guys i've decided to take the plunge and run the London Marathon 2004 - I've plenty of time to train but I have no idea what to eat? I'm so unhealthy now, I'm female, 5 foot 9, a student, i eat curry, pizza, kebab and chips all the time and I'm anaemic (and though i love veg i only eat it once or twice a week at uni.) I hate peppers but I love veg and fruit in general, I'm 21 and about 10 1/2 stone (arse looking big :( ) - basically I have no idea about food groups etc - I have no idea what to eat and when to make the most of my training. The better I do the more money :D I raise for Cancer Research UK so it's really important to me. Please help me with your knowledge!!
love Kitsxx

well as far as i know if you are wanting engery foods for training you want something with plenty of carbohydrates in, pasta is a good one, rice, bread etc, potatoes too only thing is if you eat plenty of these and dont exercise and use the excess energy you put on weight, good luck with yer training,

have you got a place in the marathon, a friend of mine has tried several times and never got one.

There's quite a bit of info
here (http://www.thesite.org/magazine/specials_food/) about different food groups, diet etc. Also, our fitness special (http://www.thesite.org/magazine/specials_fitness/) has lots of info on how to exercise properly. Happy running! :)
