Hey, I've been weight training for a while and everytime after a particularly heavy workout I get thick red lines that look like rips running across my shoulders and sometimes my biceps. Any ideas what they are? They don't hurt, but they look nasty. Cheers

you can buy a cream from avon to reduce the appearance of stretch marks,my friend swears by it. i know it's bit girly for you big tough men, but it really works. they do fade naturally but that takes a while and even then, they just turn silver really.

You can prevent stretch marks by:
~Try to keep your weight stable since stretch marks appear when the skin cant adjust to the weight gain.
~Keep your skin moist and suppl.e Brea open a vitamin E capsule and a vitamin A capsule and mix both with a teaspoon of vegetable shortening. Massage it all over at night the spots you think your most likley to get stretch marks. Try to make it a nightyl ritual.
~ Take vitamin K as a supplement, or if your doctor doesnt feel comfortable with supplements, add it to your moisturizer. Use it in the morning , or alternate it with the above treatment.
To Heal stetch marks
There is a new treatment that is available over the counter called Regenetrol that flattens out the ridges of stretch marks. So if a few stretch makrs have popped up (in you case, they have already) , give it a try.
Hope I helped! :)
