Has anyone downloaded something from kazaa that seems to show a trailer for a possible Hobbit film starring Ian Holm, Ian McKellen and Andy Serkis, directed by peter Jackson and for release in Dec 2006?
The trailer is really good and I was starting to believe it until it flashed up at the end that it was created by some random bloke, not New Line as previsouly claimed.
What do people make of it? Has he simply used footage from the other films and other films (to show the dragon) or is there some truth in this?

If new line ARE making the hobbit , they did it the wrong way around and 2006 is 3 years ....hardly any films take 3 years to make anymore ...hell,
lord of the rings ALL of them took 3 years
but if you aint been fooled and it is actually a trailer for the hobbit ...i look forward too it ..they better have good makeup cause everyone will look like 8 years older lol
*edit "cause everyone will look like 8 years old lol" one hell of a mistake :P

It wasn't a real trailer.
I think some guy was bored.
He used footage from the other films and footage from any film with a dragon (lol) to make it.
I think he is hoping it will happen. :)
I don't agree that they've done it the wrong way around. I like some prequels.

Well if my memory serves me correct the hobbit was quite boring anyway not enough action to make a lord of the rings film like the rest are :/

All *REAL* Tolkien fans like myself would be just as willing to see The Hobbit as we were to see LOTR.

But it wouldn't be a Lord of the Rings film, it would be a Hobbit film. :p
The Hobbit was not, in my opinion, boring. In actual fact I think The Hobbit is a good introduction to Middle Earth, and I would dearly love to see it portrayed on screen. I think it is exciting; the trolls, their capture by orcs and escape, Bilbo finding the ring, being chased by wolves, the spiders in Mirkwood, being captured by the elves, Smaug..... yes, I think it was quite action packed.

Erm, I was using examples from the book.
It is fine you don't like the book, but to be honest this thread wasn't about that.

In comparison to the LOTR trilogy the Hobbit, i think, is on a much smaller scale so to bring it to the big screen now after the other three films might make it a bit of an anti-climax. The best way it would have worked would have been to do the Hobbit first as an introduction to it all.
