dont know if this should go here or health but...
how long does it take muscle tissue to turn to fat? im being a complete sloth at the mo (exams etc) so i cant be bothered to go running that much anymore... and i was wondering how long roughly it will be before my muscles become hideously untoned? :D
thanks:)

fat and muscle are two different substances. you cannot turn one into the other and vice versa. if you are not training regularly then yes your muscles will lose tone, and as a result you will not burn as many calories (cos the more lean muscle mass u have the more cals burned by doing nothing...cos muscle needs cals just to exist, etc), therefore you may gain weight. but if you try and keep your diet healthy enough you should be ok. try and maybe do some stuff at home like some sit ups and arm exercises with dumbells and stuff if you cant be bothered to go running. altho be careful, i know what its like to get occupied with exams and work so much that you dont find you have the energy to train, but if you go 4 days with no activity you will find your fitness levels will start to decrease rapidly and its very hard to get back on track once they do.
