I think the invite system's a good idea - it means the person getting the journal actually really wants one, so it doesn't just sit there not being used. It means a community of good journals is built up, rather than there being millions of "No Recent Entries" journals that piss people off.

I think in a way it is a good idea to have to get access to a code from another person as it keeps the number of journals down. However, if you really are keen on getting your hands on one and you cant due to not knowing a code that can be irritating as you display in your thread Lady T I had one once but after a while I grew bored of it and it was a fiddle trying to get in to it.
