Rockerchick - have you tried sparknotes? If you're struggling to get through it, they might have the notes on the main points that exams tend to cover.

Yeah I second that. Sparknotes have proved really useful to me in the past. Just go to www.thespark.com and click on spark notes, find the ones on lord of the flies and they'll have chapter summaries and notes on the main themes and characters etc that you can print off for free. I use them for all my english literature texts, especially the Shakespeare ones.

Err, am I the only one who did A Kestrel For A Knave (aka Kes)?
I thought it was pretty wicked tbh :D
I did Macbeth in year 9, for GCSE I did Great Expectations, and this year I've done Return Of The Native. Next year i do Wuthering Heights, to be contrasted with RotN in A level exam.
I've had the same English teacher for 3 years running now, and he's excellent, so makes the books slightly more bearable. Only slightly though :eek2:

this is probably way too late, but I did it 2 years ago and my questions were something like 'what is piggy's importance in the story?' and 'how important is the scene where they first kill the pigs to the outcome of the story?'
