Do you mean spam? If so, then your e-mail provider, whether it be your ISP or something like Hotmail should give you and option to block addresses you don't want to receive e-mail from. It should be something like "filtering" or "junk mail".

From companies/sites like emode there should be an unsubscribe option. Look for details in the email, or visit their website. You may have to log in if you've signed up to them.
If it's other email spam, such as porn, don't bother trying, you'll only end up with more spam.
