My friend cannot connect to the internet because apparently the thing she clicks (and everything relating to it) to connect has disappeared. Accordingly, she has done start>search and different things, but no joy. Apparently she does not use internet explorer. Do you think it would be in her recycle bin? What do you suggest she does?

has she tried going to Start > Settings > Dialup Networking ?

Maybe it was a shortcut icon, im not sure...

If you delete something, be it intentionally or accidentally, it always goes into your recycle bin, doesn't it? If so, will all the things that have disappeared be in there?

Apparently she has looked in the recycle bin and other places, but the things are nowhere to be seen. How is this possible? Surely it can't have disappeared without trace? :confused:

Tell her to use Internet explorer. Another helpful thing would be to either tell us her ISP whether she uses a modem or has broadband of some type then possibly someone might find it easier to help
