Bush and Blair are beeming messages to the Iraqi people via their old t.v. station. So check out how Bush starts his:

"At this moment, the regime of Saddam Hussein is being removed from power."

Well duh, there's tanks in the streets and Iraqis are pulling down statues of Saddam. I think they might already know that somethings up. Wouldn't it have been better to say, by now we're sure you are as thrilled as free people everywhere to see Saddam Hussein's removal from power. (Or in some other way acknowledging that it's not news this is going on.)

I like this part:

"The long era of fear and cruelty is ending. The government of Iraq, the future of your country, will soon belong to you."

Geeze :p

i don't get it, what's wrong with that? as far as political speeches go, i thought it was pretty inspirational.

Just the way it opens. He's telling them something they already know...I mean they just have to look around them. It's like me standing in the rain and someone coming up to me and saying it's raining. I agree about the end of it being inspiring.
