Just wondering if i've found a loophole or not. When registering for bb in your area, how does it register you? name? postcode? tel numba? ip?
So if i wanted to boost up the number of demand in my area, could i just d/c and reconnect to have a different ip address so i can register again, and again etc?

With broadband, they pipe the connection through a specific cable to your house, and you are assigned a static IP address (it doesn't change). To do what you are thinking of, you need to pay for the extra ip addresses with money

No.
The broaband trigger is based on phone number and address details.
Also, if you do inflate the demand artificially you are only fooling yourself, the pre-orders must be confirmed before BT will convert the exchange.

I know that, I was correcting the misinformation from the other poster.

I'm sure you would, but you wont get it any faster by registering multiple times for the same place.

I'll never be able to get broadband where I live. The threshold for demand is about 140 people isn't it? So far 12 have expressed an interest in getting broadband. :(

It totally depends on the area. Some are about 300, while others are like 100.

Oh. Well it's still too high. And it's not fair that I can't get broadband. I want broadband now. :crying:

My area just reached the trigger level, and then I found out that I'm more than 5.5km from the exchange  I mean how can that be? The underground cable or whatever it is must go round in circles for it to be that long, my area's not exactly rural
