From past experience it's usually done for some of the following reasons:

a) letting people down at the last minute for a crap reason or an excuse is less hassle and easily done
b) your parents didn't teach you that good manners cost nothing
c) you really don't care that much about the person you're letting down

But then on the other hand sometimes there are times when you have to let people down but usually honesty works and telling them why helps.

Men in general are bastards, the good ones are either taken, gay, or both, but if he genuinely forgot (highly unlikely) I think that's ok, but I think you should text him or ring him or something to make sure :P

A similar thing happens over guys when they say they are going to call you and don't. I am one lady who wishes to be treated right and never be stood up and if someone says they will phone me they should. I hate it when people say they will do something and then they don't bother.

Anyway my point is, not all guys are crap, there are alot of genuine non-bbastards about, like myself of course! :p , so u know dont get all pissed off and angry at men just cause one of them messed you around a bit.
