band name

basically, i need a name for a band. and i also need it quite quickly. ive been thinking and thinking for ages, even resorted to reading parts of a theasaurus.

a name such as incubus, placebo, foo fighters, leftfield, portishead, idlewild etc would be good. id like something with meaning, rather that just two random words stuck together.

i also looked at old legends and the like, and found names like Iphigenia, Orpheus, and Chiron, (one of the centaurs who knew shitloads of medicine, music and the arts.)

ive looked through lyrics in cd inlays i own, mainly massive attack and ratm. im after a serious sort of name, rather than a comedy one.

i would be grateful for any help, thanks.

So, I wouldn't go with that!

If you want the name to mean somehtin then think of somethin yourself, somethin you feel strongly about.

But at the end of the day its just a name man, let the band and the music grab peoples attention instead of the name
