View Full Version : worth it?
there's a lad i get on well with at a local youth group i go to - i'm not sure whether i fancy him or not. is it worth me pursuing these feelings or is it a waste of time?
the lads ive asked out before have been mates like this too and have legged it as soon as they found out i fancied them - causing a lot of heartache as i dont go for just anyone. when i get upset over someone i turn into super turbo bitch.
is it worth me bothering with him? i dont think he fancies me - he is lovely but even lovely guys have taste.
DAMN you, genes and teenage hormones. :crazyeyes :banghead: :impissed:

id try to find out if he likes u or not before you say something. you should b able to tell by the way he is with you..ie..touches u (like hittin playfully etc), trys to make u laugh, looks into your eyes wen he talks to u...that sort of thing.
if you think he wil react in the way you said i wouldnt just jump straight in with 'i fancy you'

How long have you been mates? I don't think you should go for it too soon. As blonde_batman said look out for signals, you can usually tell - it's just a feeling you get if you like them. If you're not sure how you feel I'd say leave it til you are. I know what you mean about not going for just anyone, I'm like that myself and it's a lot harder if you get knocked back. I noticed you don't seem to think much of yourself which is a shame cos I bet you're a really nice girl - you must be to have all your mates! As for being SFNU, lots of guys prefer petite women because it makes them feel more manly to be looking after a small woman or something like that! As for being fat and ugly all I can say is that everyone has different tastes, speaking for myself I'd rather have a girl that was slightly too fat rather than slightly too thin cos I don't like twig looking girls! I'm sure you can find good points about yourself even if you do believe you're fat - nice eyes? good sense of humour? clever? nice hair? nice lips? everyone has SOME good points and you will eventually meet someone who appreciates them although it does seem forever while you're waiting doesn't it? :)

whats wrong with just being friends with the guy and letting him make the moves if he wants to get to know you better.
i'm just impatient i guess. he's pretty shy so i doubt he'd blatantly ask me out if he did fancy me - and not many lads would want to lower their street cred levels by asking me out. none, in fact, to date.
ah well every other time i thought i was seeing signals of being fancied i was wrong. i'll leave it.
known each other about a year, been mates a few months.
trouble is i'm not just slightly too fat - but then i know that some lads dont care, as one of my friends who is about the same size as me has a long term boyfriend - but she is pretty and outgoing, and average height. i am only 5ft, so combined with my weight and how i look in general i'm not an attractive prospect. if i have good points no-one bothers to look past the bad to find them, first impressions and all that.

so annoying - i've had an offer from a male friend/acquaintance to be given some 'experience' (no sex just kissing etc), he says he doesnt fancy me but thinks i'm an ok person so wouldnt mind - but now i'm 17 and realise that if i ever kiss someone it might be the only one i get, so i want the first to be special. if i'd been 12-14 i'd have taken him up on the offer. :(
