anyone watch the Eminem interview on MTV tonight. I expected it to be on longer than it was - but what can ya do! God I love that guy :cool:

Oh my God he is so not a wannabe!!! Eminem is one of a very few rappers who is real - he doesnt pretend to be something he's not. He's not trying to be a gangster or a thug, he's just who he is!

Well thats your opinion and i respect it, but personally i dont think he's trying to be black, and he never has done. At least he can write a song that contains better issues than bitches and 'ho's!! unlike all other black rappers out there.

And if you think that's all black rappers 'sing' about, you obviously have no idea what you're talking about. I know that and I don't even listen to the stuff. I have friends that do.

Eminem is a good rapper, and just because he is a rapper does not mean he wants to be black or trying to be black, he is doing what he's good at. I rap, im white, but i dont want to be black, i listen to heaps of HipHop and i dont agree with Eminem_Girl saying most rappers rap about Hoes and Bitches, cause they don't. Take a look at my *Where on earth is the favourite artists thread..* Most of those rap artists listed who i love do not rap about bitches and hoes..
I believe Eminem is a little bitch, but he is a fantastic lyricist none the less.

Well it sure is nice to see that this isn't a 'I Hate Eminem' board afterall. lol. I do agree that he sometimes takes the piss, but his albums aren't full of it.
As for my comments about black rappers and that all they sing about is bitches and ho's, i wasnt having a dig at those, i myself listen to many black rappers, i was simply making a point thats all.
All it comes down to is this, in MY opinion, Eminem is a lyrical genius and a gifted rapper, and i genuinely dont see how people can say he tries to be black, 'cos he really doesnt, he's just doing what he loves.
I dont expect everyone to agree with this, as i said, its just my opinion - if you dont like him, you dont like him, there's fuck all i can do about it :)
But he obviously DOES want to be black. Look at the way he dresses for crying out loud. A tiny blonde man like him would simply not get away with wearing a bandana! And that's just one of his fashion crimes. Also the way he acts on stage waving his arms about and stuff, he's imitating others.
Give me good old Vanilla Ice any day! Come on everyone ice, ice baby....

I'm sorry, but i dont see how wearing a bandana makes a person look like he's trying to be black - i myself wear a bandana and have done for years, and both my brothers and their friends wear them, and they're all white dudes (apart from one!) In no way are they trying to be black - my brother cant stand Eminem, simply cos he hates rap music, so its not a copycat thing.
You shouldnt judge someone for the way they dress and assume theyre trying to be something else, cos thats not it at all.
As for the comment about Vanilla Ice... dude you're not serious? Vanilla Ice is so trying to be Eminem, have you seen him lately - he tries to rap like Eminem! (not very well i might add!)when he did Ice Ice Baby and all that, he was doing pussy rap - now he's trying to do gangsta rap, which i'm sure he'll never get away with!!
I think its obvious we're not gonna agree on this, so theres no point in arguing about it - ive had constant arguments with friends about him and they think just like you! So we'll just have to agree to disagree.....

eminem is a brilliant rappper. He does everything to do with rap well and he's shite at everything else, but he doesn't try to do anyhing else so it doesn't matter! although i have to say hailies song sounds a bit bad, he isn't the best of singers!
My point is eminem isn't going to appeal to everyone, he never will, but you shouldn't bitch cos you don't like him, that's narrow minded! some people hate things that are great. I don't like limp bizkit for example, yet quite a lot of people love em, but you don't hear me moaning about how crapi think they are!
