I'm considering going in October.

Was wondering if anyone was going or has been to a previous event?

progressive.. meh!

can't you just accept a bit of varience in a night?

a nightclub is like a plane flight, its about building people up.. not staying at one level...

Of course, tell that to the hard house and trance DJ's who just bang out the tunes all night long...very boring, no set structure.

For example, I reckon my set bullds up nicely and doesn't stay on the same level the whole way through at all:

Sasha - Cloud Cuckoo
Echomen - Substance (Main mix)
Sasha - Bloodlock
James Holden - One For You
Hybrid - Visible Noise
Underworld - Cowgirl (Futureshock mix)
Kao - Stonegroove
Medway Vs. Sean Cusick - Graffiti
J.F. Sebastian Feat Kaz - Burden (Lemon 8 mix)
Little Green Men - These Are The Beats
Finger Fest Inc - Auto Porno (D Ramirez mix)
Finger Fest Inc - Auto Porno (Original mix)
Timo Maas - Shifter (Scanty mix)
Mauro Picotto - Like This Like That (Oliver Klein mix)
Trancesetters - The Saga
Underworld - 3D Dinosaur Adventure
DJ Nukem Vs. Chab - Shaiva
Junkie XL - Bon Voyage
Underworld - Two Months Off (King Unique Sunset mix)
Three Drives On A Vinyl - Greece 2000 (Paul Oakenfold mix)

It would be better if you could listen to the set, but for example, it starts off with a light progressive trance track then builds up to the first major banging song which is Underworld - Cowgirl (Futureshock mix): an explosive tech house track. You need to listen to appretiate it really. I could stream the set from Winamp ShoutCAST I guess if anyone wanted to listen.

You dont listen to HH and Trance for their set structures, u listen to them for the constant tunes they play all night. For u its boring, for me its good, tho i do prefer the sets to build a little. Thats why i prefer oakey and John Fleming coz their sets tend to build up (and tiesto sometimes)

Progressive is alright outside of a club, but inside my heads usually to fucked to concentrate on the music so i prefer trance inside the clubs (i dont like HH, or techno)

why do so may people using the clubbing forum have to turn every thread into an argument about what type of music is the best?! Just reply to the question or discuss what is being posted.

I posted a thread about the big reunion to find out if any one was going and most of the replies were to say that the music there will be shit

There are so many different types of music and there is no way that everyone on here is going to like the same so why turn all the threads into 'trance is shit' or 'creamfields is better' threads. To be honest its getting a bit boring

I actually don't mind listening to trance, sometimes it's simplicity is easy on the ears, but it can get boring in a club as it is usually just tune after tune all night, constantly on the same level. I don't mind it, it's just pretty simple, that's all. The progressive music that Sasha and Digweed play is the most intelligent music. Most say, the best. Digweed and Sasha are ranked 1st and 2nd respectivly in the world DJ rankings, so it would seem that they are the best DJs...

I dont mind some progressive stuff but a lot of it is technically good but quite dull to listen too.
Personaly I think that if you going to go out you might as well go for it hardcore the whole night, stuff like gabba, techno or hardcore.
