im only 15 but i love drum n bass and garage but there is not very many under 18 nights about so i get annoyed that i dont get to her my fav music live, does ne1 else think there should be more under 18 nights? i kno most of u are over 18 so u wont give 2 shits.

Im under 18 and i dont give 2 shits either! All of the clubs i go to are over 18. Personally I cant imagine under 18 clubs to be much fun at all...no alcoholic bevvy's...girls that look 10 etc...need i explain any further reasons.
But I suppose if you look young then you would appreciate 'young peoples' clubs. Your personal preference I guess.

What do you mean you can't hear it live? It is someone playing a record, which you can do at home!
Granted you don't get the atmosphere, but I am sure that if you and your mates all dressed up and got dad to act as a DJ, play pass the parcel..... oh.... never mind.

When I was underage, I never tried to get into clubs cos I just wouldn't been able to. That said, I was more upset about bands i like coming to NI (quite a rare occurrence really), and then playing the Limelight or the Empire - over 18 venues :mad:

im only 17 tho ive been goin to over-18 venues since i was 15. this was made possible by bein with older ppl and a quality fake drivers license. however now that its couple years on im gettin really bored of alot of these places and im not even 18 yet! more or less i have wrecked my social life for when im older. in order to get a good buzz from going out now i have to travel up the country about 40 miles on an organised bus to go to different bigger clubs...im enjoyin it, but how long will this last until i start gettin bored again, and then where do i go for a decent night out????:(

hiya, i'm 15 too, i've never been to an under 18's night, purely because of that fact! they are under 18's!!! i've been to over 18's clubs and i hear all the music i like! round here the under 18's nigths seem a place for the "youngun's" to go, they all look about 9-10, and they really want to hear Britney Spears or S Club Juniors! you get all the fit lads, drink and the good music!! what more would you want??! so don't worry, you aren't missing out, i don't think anyway! i wouldn't know! x x x

Youll just have to wait till your 18 like the rest of us had to. Thinking about it i cant imagine under 18s clubs being any good really, doesnt your school do discos! :D

Yes I did, basically because I am 19 now and still look about 16! So I had to wait until I had the ID.
Mates of mine who went clubbing at 15 now all stay in because they find it so boring, 'been there, done that'.

Some clubs i been to like Cream are well strict about ID and even if u look 20 they'll still ask u for ID. Others dont seem to give a crap about age... Some of the smaller underground clubs i been to u can come across people who look about 15-16.. I've always been seiously into ma tunes and i started going to one with my brothers when i was 16. If u wanna go.. go! No harm in trying to get in is there...

Instead of complaining about lack of U18 events why don't you organise some? Event promotions isn't that difficult.
Surely you know some of your mates who DJ? Get a group of them together and have a chat, approach a nightclub and ask about say a wednesday night 8pm-2am during the holidays, speak with the council about how it will 'take bored youngsters off the street' you'll soon get the backing... advertising is easy, just get a load of flyers done and distribute them throughout secondary schools, change say 5 pounds on the door perhaps (remember if your making profit you have to become a VAT company) and put a night on... no-alcohol its simple... explain to the club that they can take all profit within the venue (ie. bar) and then you get the staff (ie. bouncers/barstaff/lightjock) for free, tell them how it will be good for them as they are putting something back in the community.. after all taking youngsters off the streets and accomodating them away from damaging the community is every council's dream... use it to your advantage...
Its not that difficult, It just takes a bit of commitment and pushing, get a group of you and it will work out in your favour, you never know some of your skills could get harnised in the real world. Do you know any local DJs you could ask to play, any record shops in your area with any of the club jocks from your area? Get one of them involved and back them up with young local talent... I know, I started that way :)

Many years ago when I was under 18 some of the nightclubs where I was then living used to open on a Sunday evening for under 18s. I don't think that any clubs at all do that now.
I used to go to the youth clubs when I was under 18. Some of the youth clubs I went to then were almost as good as proper night clubs they had discos in then and used to get packed. One of them used to take place in church hall on a friday and only cost ten pence to get in back then.

I read about this not long ago this year, it was in Mixmag, and it was all about this young lad (started out at 15 (?)) who was P*d that his local town etc. did'nt do under 18 events, well he went to the clubs he was interested in and suggested it and the club was interested.
Anyhoo, he now manages his own company organising under 18 events - and i think even now he's only just turned 18 (!)
You really need to find a back copy of mixmag, all i can tell you is that it was some time this year.

Personally i say just try to get in anyway.

Cos i go to : synergie in warrington, lush (ikon) - bolton, liquid - wigan, fluid- bolton, J2- bolton . + theres loads in all areas, + they arent shit they are the same as like adult ones just younger people, they dote let 10 year olds in, they do at ikon but not at J2, in J2 evryones like 17 :), soo hope that helped, ohh and in J2 on the first floor they play R N B :D, xx

sorry i know the poster brought up an old post but this just made me grin :D my sister used to go to some of these nights! and i used to go the under 18s ikon one many moons ago. and i cant believe they have under 18s nights at fluid. one of the roughest places iv ever seen. lol.
