Possibly gonna be an unpopular thread, but here goes:

why do you club? why do you enjoy going to sweaty sticky smelly places full of people who think they are great? with shit music thats too loud so much so that you cant even hear the person standing RIGHT NEXT TO YOU.

appreciate your comments.x

nothing like a good beer'n'boogie to get rid of that stress one gets from living in an urban environment.

Besides, i often like the music.

why do you club?

I like the music, I've been doing it and activily involved in various clubbing scenes since I was 14 so its going what comes natural I guess.

why do you enjoy going to sweaty sticky smelly places full of people who think they are great?

I disagree, yes they are usually sweaty and sticky however thats due to people dancing and usually (unfortuatly) inadaqute ventilation (which is down to either the club owners or promotors).

As for people thinking there great, I think your charactorising there, if you were to take 'pisshead' clubs then yes and thats synonimous with drinking - alcohol of course making you think your 'it'.

However if we're talking proper dance clubs, where drug taking is the majority (not saying this is right here) then you'll 9.9/10 find that those are some of the happiest, friendliest people you will ever meet.

with shit music

Thats your definition of it, not shared by everyone is it?

thats too loud so much so that you cant even hear the person standing RIGHT NEXT TO YOU.

But we're not there to have a debate or conversation are we? I don't want to hear what other people are saying at a club, I'm there to have a good time and dance my arse off... If I wanted to chat with people I'd pick a pub... dance clubs are for DANCING. :p

I go clubbing to listen to the music, i love it!

Also go coz its fun activity for you and ur m8s to do

music thats too loud so much so that you cant even hear the person standing RIGHT NEXT TO YOU.

U usually find pisshead clubs the sound system is louder than in a proper club. But u just go sumwhere quieter to resolve that problem.

Clubs obviously dont appeal to u, but it does to others

I completely agree clubs ARE crap and that is a fact of life. Clubbers are: little kiddies trin to be "cool" by boastin at school that they went down a club the nite before, old minging people strieveing to be young again by hangin around young people and all round losers that have nothing better to be doing

I see no reasson to go to clubs and be packed in a sweaty little place with a bunch of brain dead morans jumpin about, through out my life my family and ppl have owned MANY clubs, from ur dance clubs-strip clubs and otha things that most of you dont have a clue about, and i now know that clubbers are ownly used for their money that they spend on drink, djs get the fame and money-what do u get-ooo yea! sweaty and hungova (and minging lookin) I personaly wouldn't be caught dead in a line for a club theres NO POINT the ONLY time i would EVER go to a club, would be a club that i know the owner of, and i wouldn't be there to jump up and down in a pool of twats but to be wit ppl i actualy know in the vip section only, thats where its at, plus in most vip sections you can still listen to music and drink but have a area to chill out in, and many benefits not a sweaty dance floor.

But i do have to hand it to you- if you dont like clubs dont go! and i dont so lets both be satifised, i'm just sateing the ovious to ppl with a higher view of clubs than what u appear to have.

THERES NO POINT ROCKIN IT IF YOU CANT ROCK IT IN STYLE and style is not a little club. alrite!? maybe one day when you are hit the face with reality you will be writeing a reply like this. Most of you dont even know anythin your just sheep!.

But to all you that still enjoy clubbin, i hope your little mirandingless lives find some form of happiness from it. and no happiness cant be the results of drugs!:p byebye!!xxxxxx maybe one day you will learn how to TRUELY party! cause thats oviously somethin u've NEVA experienced!:o

Interesting! I'd always thought I was the only person in the world who doesn't like clubbing. My feelings are similar to James', but I'm not about to condemn all of you who do go clubbing. Can't see anything in it myself though!

I used to love clubbing. I liked to dance, to chat with people, that nice hazy feeling. But every time I have been recently I haven't enjoyed it. I would prefer to go to a pub to chat or a party, or to do something like go for a meal or to see a play. I suppose I just grew out of it. I don't see the appeal anymore of spending loads of money to stand in a room, all squashed up against people, boiling hot, paying £3 or more for a drink, going to minging toilets with no paper, having annoying people who shove past you and then paying a tenner to get home. I would rather spend my money on something else.

THere's different types of clubs. The cheesy places that play pop music and the lot most people do go to pull.

Proper dance clubs people go to because they want to dance the night away to music they like, people are friendly, you can make some top mates, but you don't go to pull.

Well there are some varied opinions here aint there ? lol

I like clubing because its a good chance to let your hair down (he hee) and meet people, listen to new music and go mental for 8 hours. The perfect end to a stressy week at work.

So if you dont like it, dont sit there and slate it, dont go, we dont want you there anyway, stick to your air conditioned VIP room fcukinkybiatch because sounds like you are too far up your arse already and will overheat for sure.

Mmmmm now lets start a thread slating playing chess, i cant see the point in it......ermmmm maybe thats why I dont play it, so I will keep my opinions to myself.........

K admitted, my last post sounded really stuck up, it wasn't spose to come ova like that- all it was spose to say is that i wud ne day rather be in a place like a pub or a party and what i meant by the Vip section is that, thats the only place i have gone and will go in clubs and the only reason i even go in those is to see my mates! no offence meant to neone alrite!? If u like clubs fair enough i was just stateing my point of view, we all have one.

Parties are where its at 4 me-maybe not u! :p so dont take ne offence from my last post and dont c it like i have my head up my ass the vip part came ova wrong.;)

I don't go clubbing that often - it's much too expensive!! I enjooy it under some circumstances, i.e. if I'm going with people I get on with and I like the music that's playing it can be a really great night out. But I have some "friends" who treat the whole experience as an excuse to get really drunk and if you're spending the entire evening propping them upright and holding back their hair when they throw up it quickly becomes much less fun.

Cheezie Grin

It's pretty simple why I go to clubs. It's the full experience. The music, the lasers and the lights, the euphoria of being one person, within a mass of people, in one place to do the same thing as me - have fun!

I enjoy going to parties or down the pub for a few JDs with my friends - but I keep the two separate as they don't mix. Most of my friends wouldn't dream of going clubbin without taking pills or a couple of lines, something I don't do.

Dancing your tits off and getting a little sweaty is part of the fun, yep you'll look a mess when you finally hit the morning light but who cares? I'm not going there to impress the opposite sex. If I'm out getting pished I'll make the effort to get dressed up, look good, smell nice and try out my best chat up lines. Two different types of night out.

If you don't like clubbin', don't go. That's your wish and I respect it. But these are my youthful (?) years and I intend to enjoy them as much as possibly!

Heh, never posted in this forum before but ah well..

I go clubbing most Thursdays, the other days are much too expensive. Some times I go with some of my work mates in which case I go out in order to pull, get frunk and have a really good time or other times I go out with my mates [not from work] in order to destress and have a good time with my closest friends. It's just a way of relaxing after a hard day's studying/working.

In reply to my earlier post it's been suggested (by a member of these boards) that I dance in the streets. Whilst it would certainly be cheaper to do so I feel that at the same time it would also be less conductive to the continued good condition of the (leather) soles of my shoes than would, say, a decent sprung dancefloor. Then there's the question of a proper sound system.......

Can't believe no one has really reacted at this! How up your own arse are you!?!? Speaking down to clubbers if they are completly thick and don't have a clue what's going on! Especially your last two paragraphs; what the fuck is that all about, calling us sheep and saying we don't know how to truly party? What a load of shite. "Clubs are just in it for the money" Wellllll! You don't say!!! WOW I NEVER KNEW THAT, HONESTLY! What do you take us for? The reason I go clubbing is because I am so into THE MUSIC. Not the image, not the drugs, not whatever else you have against us. it's also a great way to relieve stress to dance to the music you love.

Actually I can't be bothered writing a big argument against you, I'm simply going to say: STOP BEING SO NARROW MINDED.

Bartonious - it's not worth reacting to, as I would "NEVA" understand the response and all the points she was "sateing".

At the end of the day, FKB has different interests in life and different things to make her smile. I'm happy being a clubber and there's nothing that will change that. Each to their own.

Yeah if people don't like clubbing then fair enough, whatever, each to their own. I've got laods of mates that don't go clubbing because they don't like the music. But what fcukinkybiatch was saying is the biggest pile of shit ever! Here's an example:

"I completely agree clubs ARE crap and that is a fact of life. Clubbers are: little kiddies trin to be "cool" by boastin at school that they went down a club the nite before, old minging people strieveing to be young again by hangin around young people and all round losers that have nothing better to be doing"

I mean WHAT THE FUCK? OK people are entitled to their opinions, but does no one agree that this opinion of clubbers is extreamly fucked up??? If you are a clubber, you are either: a little kiddy tyring to be cool, an old person trying to be young again, or a loser with nothing to do!!! Hmmmm! Um.. what about people that love THE MUSIC etc. etc. etc. etc. Well if this is what you believe fcukinkybiatch, then whatever, but I think almost everyone will agree that what you have said is just plain wrong! LOL

"I completely agree clubs ARE crap and that is a fact of life. Clubbers are: little kiddies trin to be "cool" by boastin at school that they went down a club the nite before, old minging people strieveing to be young again by hangin around young people and all round losers that have nothing better to be doing"

Ok, so I'm 18 does that make me a little kiddy? Nope
An old minger? nope

So that means I must be an all round loser with nothing to do....

I play volleyball, go climbing, mountaineering, kayaking, skiing, party with mates go down the pub, go off to cornwall with mates for a week of chilling, go off to europe to have fun in the sun....
Nothing to do? Hardly.....

Just accept that it can be fun, you just don't like it yourself.
And as you've admitted, you haven't even tried it, "

and what i meant by the Vip section is that, thats the only place i have gone and will go in clubs and the only reason i even go in those is to see my mates!
Don't knock it until you've tried it. First time I went clubbing I felt really out of place in a room full of mad people dancing. Now, once I've got going on the dance floor I'm off my face with shear fun :D I don't need alcohol, I don't need drugs, once you get caught up in it the music takes over, it's not like it's even music any more, just pure energy hitting you as you dance away like mad....

Absolutely spot on there mate. It's all about everyone joing together as one in time with the music which just takes over and makes you move. If I'm going to a decent club I very rarely drink, certainly don't get drunk and I've neevr done drugs in my life. The msic is a drug (If you excuse the terminology) to me and thats all i need to keep me going till whatever time in the morning dancing non-stop.

The Raver's Manifesto

Our emotional state of choice is Ecstasy.
Our nourishment of choice is Love.
Our addiction of choice is technology.
Our religion of choice is music.
Our currency of choice is knowledge.
Our politics of choice is none.
Our society of choice is utopian though we know it will never be.

You may hate us. You may dismiss us. You may misunderstand us. You maybe unaware
of our existence.
We can only hope you do not care to judge us, because we would never judge you.
We are not criminals. We are not disillusioned. We are not drug addicts. We are
not naive children.
We are one massive, global, tribal village that transcends man-made law,
physical geography, and time itself.

We are The Massive.
One Massive.

We were first drawn by the sound. From far away, the thunderous, muffled,
echoing beat was comparable to a mother's heart soothing a child in her womb of
concrete, steel, and electrical wiring.

We were drawn back into this womb, and there, in the heat, dampness, and
darkness of it,
We came to accept that we are all equal. Not only to the darkness, and to
ourselves,
but to the very music slamming into us and passing through our souls: we are all
equal.

And somewhere around 35 Hz we could feel the hand of God at our backs, pushing
us forward, pushing
us to push ourselves to strengthen our minds, our bodies, and our spirits.,

Pushing us to turn to the person beside us to join hands and uplift them by
sharing the uncontrollable joy we felt from creating this magical bubble that
can, for one evening, protect us from the horrors,
atrocities, and pollution of the outside world. It is in that very instant,
with these initial realisations that each of us was truly born.

We continue to pack our bodies into clubs, or warehouses, or buildings you've
abandoned and left for naught, and we bring life to them for one night.

Strong, throbbing, vibrant life in it's purest, most intense, most hedonistic
form.
In these makeshift spaces, we seek to shed ourselves of the burden of
uncertainty for a future you have been unable to stabilise and secure for us.

We seek to relinquish our inhibitions, and free ourselves from the shackle's and
restraints you've put on us for your own peace of mind.
We seek to re-write the programming that you have tried to indoctrinate us with
since the moment we were born. Programming that tells us to hate, that tells us
to judge, that tells us to stuff ourselves into the nearest and most convenient
pigeon hole possible.
Programming that even tells us to climb ladders for you, jump through hoops, and
run through mazes and on hamster wheels. Programming that tells us to eat from
the shiny silver spoon you are trying to feed us with, instead of nourish
ourselves with our own capable hands.
Programming that tells us to close our minds, instead of open them.

Until the sun rises to burn our eyes by revealing the distopian reality of a
world you've created for us, we dance fiercely with our brothers and sisters in
celebration of our life, of our culture, and of the values we believe in: Peace,
Love, Freedom, Tolerance, Unity, Harmony, Expression, Responsibility and
Respect.

Our enemy of choice is ignorance.
Our weapon of choice is information.
Our crime of choice is breaking and challenging whatever laws you feel you need
to put in place to stop us from celebrating our existence.
But know that while you may shut down any given party, on any given night, in
any given city, in any given country or continent on this beautiful planet, you
can never shut down the entire party.
You don't have access to that switch, no matter what you may think.
The music will never stop.
The heartbeat will never fade.
The party will never end.

I am a raver, and this is my manifesto.
;)

what a load of Bollocks - if u dont have a clue what your talking about then i suggest u dont say anything because stuff like that really pisses people off, especially people who are well into the whole underground scene.

Some people would say clubbing is going to there local beer belly meet market type place where u can pose away in your ben sherman shirts smashing pint glasses over one anothers heads and doing some so called cool dancing to britney spears, steps & s club 7 load a shite....

Proper clubbing isnt about trying to get off with sum slapper, its about great music, dancing non stop for hours,. meeting some really sound people, and doing something which alot of people really really enjoy..

The clubbing experience is a great one - provided that you goto somewhere that is reputable.

It's really great being able to share your passion for your chosen music type with like minded people. That's what gives it such a great atmosphere.

As for the loudness, if you go somewhere with a good set up then you'll start finding that you love it. (The End is highly recommended). You can feel your body vibrating away to the fat basslines making it even more of an experience.

I don't have a problem with ppl that don't like clubbing, but I don't think you should slag it off until you've tried going somewhere with a good reputation first. Unfortunately there are alot of lame clubs out there which can put you off. But if you visit the better places I'm sure you may find that you are pleasantly suprised.

Go on - you know you want to try it....:eek2:
