Best clubbing nights I have ever had have been in Hong Kong, Paris and Miami.

I must say that the best clubs I've been to are all in the UK. I'm from Spain and most clubs are just crap. They either have cheesy euro house music with the crowd concentrating on drinking expensive cocktails and checking out other people, or very fast and very bad home-made techno full of kids and generally unpleasant people where no-one smiles and you'd better make no eye contact with certain clubbers. Haven't been to Ibiza, but then again the clubs there are more British than Spanish.
I've been to clubs in Amsterdam and was slightly disappointed with what I saw. Vancouver is just the most boring city on earth, and the best nightclub was little more than a large bar with crap vocal house that closed at 2 a.m. Rome doesn't have the best of nightlife either.
My general rule is that if you don't know what to expect of a city's nightclubs, go to the gay ones. They usually have the best music, atmosphere and quantity of drugs. That specially applies to Amsterdam, where I've heard endless positive comments about the gay/mixed clubs.
My favourite place outside Britain used to be Goa in India. There are no clubs there, but the most fucking brilliant full moon parties were held every season. Copious amounts of illegal substances, blinding techno/trance music, amazing surroundings (beach, palm trees, etc). Sadly 2 years ago the authorities banned music after 10:00 p.m., effectively killing 35 years of parties and annual pilgrimages by hippies, backpackers and fun-seekers :(
Never been to Germany, and I'd love to check what Berlin has to offer. Not to mention the Love Parade. :)

Ah - I forgot Berlin. I went to the love parade there when I lived in Berlin.
It was brilliant but crap if you know what I mean. 2 million people for a party is great, but when you get tired or want to go somewhere to chill out etc etc.
It takes an eternity to get out of the loop. But the love parade aside, there weren't that many great clubs in Berlin.
I think thats why I love Paris so much. Plenty of laid back French funk. All the Source acts playing all the time.

Not a City but a town. Ayia Napa. Had a bit of every genre, big names acts, mostly brilliant atmosphere, superb sound systems, great themes and gimmicks, exceptional promotion work and top notch pre bars.
eh dublin!

Errm, in the UK there really is only London, granted a lot of the clubs are shit and really expencive but there are gems.
As for anywhere then it would have to be Cape Town, not really because they have great clubs as such but they have a great outdoor hippy party scene which is fantastic. Everyones so friendly, lots of acid and puff around and pills if you want them, all very cool.
That and the fact that bog weed is 4 quid an ounce there helps!
AdamF I've been clubbing in Miami and it was one of the best nights out of my life. We ended up at this Cuban night club, open air on an island. It was amazing, I had a bottle of bacardi, lime and learned to dance with people who'd obviously been born with the ability to move their hips like that. They knew how to party.
