not that there need be any segregation and i don't nessesarily believe that there should be , but it'll let me know what sort of crowd i'm in with!
i don't think i've ever been to a night of any particular genre that i've not enjoyed! Edinburgh has a fat taste! everything listed in the pole and more... Latin, Acid Jazz, etc. and as i said it's all good 'cept garage!

I used to like trance and hardhouse, up until 1998ish, and still like the old stuff, but the new stuff just sounds so watered down, commercialised, lowest common denominator rubbish (IMO) compared to what it used to sound like. It also has no funk, no groove or feeling, which is a bit of a disadvatage for genres that are supposed to be 'dance' music...

I liked the rawness, it had more of a techno sound, stuff like Misjah, Groovehead & Tim on X Trax, Awex and Tesox on Plastic City, stuff on Choci's Chewns, Smitten, early Prolekult, Eye Q and Harthouse. The stuff I hear these days is too polished, seems to be produced to appeal to the lowest common denominator of 16 year old kids on their first pill...not intelligent at all, just obvious.
