Losing posts

Could anyone help me? The number of posts that I feel I have posted and the number that is shown seems to differ rather a lot. Why is this? I have done a search on this, but can't find any posts like it.

The post counts all went crazy during the software upgrade. Most people gained posts but a few (Ego, FireyFirenze...) lost posts.

Thanks for replying. Yes I heard on the boards that the post count had gone a bit heywire. I just hoped that I might get an extra 1,000 or two, but then I was always greedy :)
