So whos everyones favourite for football or any other sport for that matter.
I'll stick to football.
Barry Davis - Has kind of a calm voice, doesn't get too over excited. The current grandad of commentators.
Clive Tyldsly (sp?) - The only decent commentator ITV have. His commentry in the last 2 minuites of the '99 Champions League Final sticks in my mind.
Ken Worthemholm - The original and one of the best. Has a great voice for the game and made the '66 World Cup final that little bit more special.
And last put by no means least:
Graham Richards - Who? I hear you ask. Hes the BBC Radio Derby commentator for Derby's games. Has a classic voice and doesn't mind lambasting Derby, or any other team, when they play badly.
You can listen to him here - http://www.bbc.co.uk/derby/sport/rams/fans/2002/richards.shtml
Note to Eb: You may enjoy some of his commentaries

Murray Walker gone but not forgotten, 'and its go go go' he was a joy to hear, especially with all those bizarre cock-up's thrown in for comical value
The snooker bloke - that quiet voice
Martin Tyler of sky sports, he's just a good all round commentator
Brian Moore (rip) a legend that remindes me of many happy england moments
the Norwegian bloke - winston churchill, maggie thatcher your boys took one hell of a beating i love that piece not because of the result but it reminds me what a great country i come from

Fraid I haven't, tend to stick to Radio Derby for my matches.
Motty's alright but gets on my nerves abit.
Forgot to mention Alan Green on Five Live with his good ole Northern Irish accent.
And who ever it was but the original South America commentator who spouted GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAALLLLLL!!
Must have been stuck for words i think

Has anyone heard the SKY commentator who has the dubious honour of covering tenpin bowling and pool?
If I remember rightly, he has a geordie accent and can't seem to control the volume and emphasis of his speech, so he ends up shouting excitedly at totally random points where nothing exciting appears to be happening.
Geoff Boycott was always quite funny (before various misdemeanours put a premature end to his media career). He used to be hypercritical and use quirky phrases like: "That's just meat and drink to a batsmen like Border"...If you've ever watched cricket in Australia, Bill Lawrie (ex-player cum commentator) is hilarious...he seems quite incapable of being impartial and gets well excited when Oz do well...But, in the beautiful game (of cricket), there is one man in a class of his own: Richie Benaud
