Well another friendly, what have learned from it ?

I thought ricketts missed his chance, a poor display but then i don't really understand what he was doing there in the first place

Vassell looked decent, but do we have room for another heskey ?

Didn't see enough of bridge to decide one way or another especially defensivly, must be given another chance

The defense still worries me, campbell and ferdinand don't seem to click together, maybe a lack of experience ?????? still as good as we've got though !

Of course the trio in the middle looked as comfortable as ever, becks, scholes and gerrard are a class above the rest in tonights side !

As for the 'we can't be arsed, so we'll say were injured' brigade, i hope they will be pushed for a place a little harder, numerous names were missing and if they are not careful they will be missing come may 31st

all in all a very pleasing night

I thought Vassel and Ferdinand were very good though Cole didn't have much of an impact. I was very pleasantly suprised to see us outpass the Dutch fo long periods, our midfeild is very good indeed.

The defence also looks very solid, the Dutch have arguably the best strike force in the world and they could only score one very dodgy goal and had few chances.

Even without Owen and with Heskey playing wide we had a lot of chances, if Owen had been playing we would have won

I thought Craig Bellamy was fab -
Not bad for a team who are placed about 101st against a team placed in the top 5.

Bridge got involved in some good build up play, played some decent early left-footed crosses in.
Vassel has proved himself at u21 and now has exploded on to the full international sceen, good goal taken well.
Rickets a bit nervous but i feel we have to have more faith in him as he has played very well for Bolton.
Cole basically to cocky and too young.
Powell England havent concided while he's been on (says it all really).
Gerrard, Beckham, Scholes... well what can you say outstanding! Two of the best passes of the ball and a great central midfielder in Scholes. Only problem all like to get forward which left the defence unprotected.
Martyn - unlucky
James, outstanding, got down well, deserves another look.
Neville brothers they just turn up and do their job.
Campbell good solid defender was unluck with the clearence leading upto the Holland goal.
Ferdinand did he's job well.
Phillips still looking for his first international goal should get it though even playing for sunderland he doesn't deserve to be goal less. Did get the header to force Van Der Sar to concide the coner which England indirectly scored from.
Other than a couple of dodgy moments when Klivert got in bettween the defence and midfieldi think that a lot of player proved them selves.

Good luck Sven picking your 23 i'd not like to.

Well done Darius Vassell. He gets out shone at Villa by Angel and i think he has now shown what he is capable of - he needs to keep producing that though at both club and international level (when given the chance).

Ricketts looked nervous and his first touch let him down a few times (possibly linked). Not ready for June but still will grow into a great player for the future.

Phillip didn't take his chance. Had two distinct chances and didn't put either away. He needs to prove himself a goalscorer at this level and I don't think he'll do that in the few friendlies before the World Cup. Is running out of time.

Martyn played well and looked confident. Was very unlucky with the goal - twice in 4 days...

Defensive put in a good performance and wasn't phased by the quality of the Dutch attack. Kluivert seemed to cause a few problems in the first half.

Midfield are world class. we may have a problem filling tha left wing position but play 3 in midfield and no one cares. The only thing with playing those 3 is that while it looks great going forward it will put a great strain on the defensive. They coped well and Beckhams second half passing (Thank God he's English)

Strikers a bit experimental. Darius did very well and took his goal brilliantly. Greated chances for others and wasn't afraid to shoot. Ricketts I think looked nervous but has got his debut out the way. Heskey again always going over but looked good. Phillips just aint gonna score for England.

Others that come on and need a mentioning:
James didn't have much to do but coped with it well. Still not my first choice (or even second) but satisfactory for covering injuries.
Joe Cole looked alright when he got on the ball, had obviously been told to go and enjoy it. Wish he wouldn't beat players in our half .
Didn't see much of Powell but he looked good. Unluky with follow up shot.
Phil Neville like your brother. Would rather see our Sunday teams full back there than you.
Frank Lampard didn't much as big an impresion as Cole but still played average. Didn't get too involved. WOuld like to see him pick the ball up and create more.
Southgate looked comfortable on the ball and looked every bit the regular coming back.

I would like to see Richard Wright given a chance. I think Sven needs to decide what he's doing up front and give them at least a whole game together. We're always gonna create chances with Beckham, Gerrard and Scholes so we need someone to put em away. Even Owen and a more instinctive striker like Fowler. Sven seems to like pace (Vassell and Heskey - not Sherringham )

I'd also like to say: Well done Wales! Brilliant result even though they semmed to be on the back foot most of the game. When your 1-0 up against Argentina and can take your best player off your doing something right. Of course the rise of Bellamy aint harmed Welsh football...

I dont think too much can be taken from the Wales game. It was a great Welsh performance but it was also Argentinas 2nd team
