So where is it? I went to London a couple of weeks ago and was really disappointed, it was dirty and there wasnt much to b impressed over. I will never call Manchester again. On holidays my worst has to be Kos.

What do you mean? London is a crazy city, full of life and people and above all atmosphere, what more could you ask for?
The worst place i'm sorry to say would have to be Liverpool, dirty and rough are the 2 words that spring to mind. null

Hmm never been in a place that sucked except my hometown.

London has good and bad points- hate the tube, the prices and the crowds, love the shops and the variety of things to do.
Milton Keynes has to be the worst place I have been. Boring, modern buildings with no character. Or alternatively Myrthrr Tydfil in Wales.

The worst place that I've ever visited has to be Ilfracombe in Devon.
I went there with a friend and his family a few years back and well...BORING!!!
The place itself is as dull as ditchwater and for a Devonshire town, the surrounding area is crap aswell.
I was there for a holiday, but by the second day,I had actually got myself a job in the hotel kitchens, peeling potatoes for something to do!

Middlesborough or Stoke on Trent, I can't decide between the two.

Milton Keynes.
But when I was there, AC/DC were at the bowl, so it was the best place in the world for a few hours!

I rather like London, got a nice "feel" to it.
Worst place? Milton Keynes is pretty shit, but I've never spent more than a couple of hours there to go shopping or go see a cinema. And the new complex with the snow hill and kickass shops is pretty cool. So for a giant shopping centre, it's not bad. To live, it'd be absolute hell.
I honestly cannot think of a single place that didn't have at least a few redeeming features. Positive reflection, I know for a fact I hated a whole heap of places when I was actually visiting it.
Odd. I must be getting less pessimisstic in my old age.
Stoke, Leicester and Middlesborough aren't pleasent but i've decided that for today hull is my first choice, horrid, horrid place.

I live in Barnstaple, North Devon, 12 miles from Illfracombe. I agree that the town is best visited by those on a SAGA holiday, but North Devon has plenty to offer the visitor, especially Exmoor and the many picturesque towns and villages.

The question was'nt "where's the worst place you've been to in England" was it?
I know a lot of people will disagree with me here, but, with the exception of Ibiza, I'd have to say Spain. I have never encountered so many evil, mean, non-caring, strict-rule-abiding, crazy, incredibly annoying, vulgar and obnoxious people in my life!!!
There.....that felt much better!!!
Yeah I agree Spain is a filthy country, bloody awful.
Greece is much nicer

That surely depends where you have been in Spain? If your only experience is staying in a holiday resort then you have not seen Spain. I spent a summer working in the central mountinous (sp) region, it was absolutely gorgeous. So :P

I did note you did not mention barnstable as a good place to visit. Good thing to as that is among my worst.

Barnstaple isn't that bad!
Admittedly, I'd never want to live there, but it has interesting shops, nice places to eat and the air is clean.

If you think places like Ilfracombe and Barnstaple are bad, then try a place called Zahony on the Hungarian/Ukranian border.
A few houses, some fields, non-stop rain and lots of seemingly very depressed locals walking about....
Luckily, I was only changing trains there whilst Inter-Railing.

Manchester is the most dire shithole I've ever had the misfortune to pass through.
On the continent, Portugal and most of Spain rate the worst. I can't stand countries that look like giant building sites that were abandoned in the 60's. You know wat i mean, pylons and concrete walls appearing out of nowhere...

Well it may have the odd oasis of beauty, but on the whole it resembles the third world, the 'countyside' is shocking, they need more rain.

There's about one sqaure mile of nice parts in the center and its surrounded by a ring of about 15 miles of shit.
I saw three burned out cars just driving through once.

I've been to Weeki Wachi too!
It sucked! Towns like this are the scariest thing about America, small town America of course has it's charms, but for the most part they're just breeding grounds for inbred hicks.
I spent every spring vacation from 8 to 15 in Florida. I'm so sick of that place.

Troy, New York.
We were desperately looking for somewhere to stay and for some unknown reason decided to pull off there.
It was even worse when the next day someone asked us where we'd stayed the night before, my mom said, "oh, some place called Troy" and the woman asked, "what? and you're still alive?"

Southampton was a real disappointment: really charmless. Lots of parks but they're of limited use in January when I visited. Also: Blaina, a small town in South Wales. For the three people who've ever been there, well, they'll know what I mean. Sheffield gets let off because despite being ugly as hell when I visited, it was fun, the local sense of humour is warm as toast and it's improved, physically, since 1998. Finally: Woking, Redhill, Slough, Bracknell... name a London satellite town...

It's gotta be Spain. I've got nowt against the peeps there and I find them friendly, but I find the place tacky, naff and hugely over rated. Last year I went to Barcelona and the Costa Brava and the whole place was a building site full of drunk Germans and sunburnt scousers. Spain would be a better place if it wasn't for all the crime about too.

Middlesborough and Leeds are two places I don't enjoy visiting (except in the summer for the festival in leeds!)
Middlesborough because of all the factories and the road systems. Leeds beucause I had a bad experience when I went to visit the uni and a mate fell in the pond and dragged me in too, and we had to walk around town soaking wet, then it started to rain really badly just when we had dried off! It wasn't the places' fault, but I can't hold a grudge against the weather can I?!
Abroad, I would say Salk Lake City, the city of mormons, where you can't get a drink for anything!

Mormons are sexy as hell and I would love to seduce one and have my wicked way with him, oh yeah. Me and my friend used to be obsessed with these mormons (there's a mormon church near my house). I mean, they send all the young, clean cut, inexperienced men over here to recruit people.mmmm....sorry to go off topic.

Im surprised no one has mentioned Asia haveing some of the biggest shi*t holes in the galaxy..parallel to a stunning beach in the Phillippines will be a heaving dump, crawling with cockroaches the size of yr foot and cat-like rats; I dont know why - I think its the humidity but no where stinks like Kai Tak airport in Hon Kong on a sweltering day - seriously smells like 50,000 dead bodies..
But I think by far the worst place Ive visited is a tiny town in Vietnam between Saigon & Dhalat - the drivers are bloody suicidal and as we drove off the highway into the village, our minibus driver was in a sudden attack of the giggles, pointing at something - it was actually a 5 yr old girl, decapitated, she had been run over..by far an infrequent occurance...the people in Vietman are generally lovely, I guess over the last horrific years theyve sort of lost some of the value they hold for life..?

Any of the Greek or Spanish islands which have a british night club on them are horrible places.Ayia Napa,Ibiza,Magaluff type places. Horid!!
Full of drunks and slappers, who act all grown up and in reality are drop outs.
However, the Americas and places like Hong kong,Shanghai and Japan in particualr are awesome places to visit.

Someone here called London a dirty city - Well I've been there last March and I was very surprised because actually it's very clean. You've never seen a dirty city! (I've thought Munich is dirty but some time ago a guy from Berlin visited us and he told me that Munich is much cleaner than Berlin).
The worst accomadation I've ever had was in London, but it was cheap.
The worst place I've ever visited was a toilet at a French motorway service area. Oh no I've forgotten something: The public toilets near the Prater in Vienna *uuargh*
